The one, the only Rogue (aka Savage/Climax/Ryul2)! A man of many names and titles, this guy will crush and destroy all opposition. The highest career prize money of any SC2 pro.
Achievements WCS 2017 WORLD CHAMPION!!!
GSL Super Tournament 2 2017 Champion!
IEM KATOWICE WORLD CHAMPION!!!! IEM Shanghai 2017 Champion!
He's a mainstay in GSL, finishing Ro8 at least in all seasons in 2015, as well as making Ro8 in S2SL twice.
Highest ranked Zerg in Proleague 2015, with a 22-12 record on the season.
Getting into IEM Katowice through the Korean Qualifier. Yes, this is a major achievement, just look at the bracket
Thought this guy deserved some love, and a quick search showed that he didn't have a fanclub (or so i didn't think) so here one is! hopefully he gets the attention he deserves <3
Crap..Well if he's still running his, then i'll step down. but if he's not active, then i dunno. in my defence though, i searched for "rogue fanclub" before i made this one.
Edit: i was also thinking of making a Cure/True fanclub, because a cursory glance told me they didn't have one. do you know if they have one? or are those guys taken

Don't worry about that other fan club. OP hasn't edited it since December of 2012, it has almost no members signed up, and it wasn't a very active fan club thread. Also, you can always replicate any content he used if you like it.
I'll have Kadaver close the other one. This will be his official fan club.
I stand corrected their is actually one scenario where Rogue would be eliminated sOs> Lambo and Zanster FanTaSy > Welmu, HyuN,and Rain Dark > Apocalpyse, Leenock, Reality, FanTaSy, Finalist
Long time fan, but I did not notice this thread before. Sign me in please! By Far my fav player in proleague, he finds crazy tricks out of the less tricky race, I love it!
I'll try to edit curse topic on reddit as you linked it and it has since been confirmed :-)
I want Rogue to win blizzcon so much right now. I remember at the beginning of the season Artosis talking about Rogue and how he said that he just wants to get better and practice as much as possible.

I don't even know why people keep saying Solar invented the SH build to snip buildings because it was Rogue who did it in the first place in Proleague. Don't remember who he was against but I remember he did it in Dusk Tower. Took down the rock in the gold base and used SH to launch locusts into the the main from there. So technically this is nothing new or surprising.

It was against Dark, 2016 Round 3 SKT vs Jinair first match.

In HotS people already did that against Protoss and Mech. Though Rogue was the first one to do it there too.
But Solar is the first one who made it work in the current zvp meta so I think it's okay saying he invented it.
Edit: Just realized how old the post I was quoting is... oops.
Rogue is a Protoss destroyer. Let us hope, Maru gets as second from group D, Rogue beats the other Zerg and then destroys Classic / Stats to get to the big final.

How deep will he need to advance in the remaining tournaments to get to Blizzcon ?
He'll have to go very deep. I mean best case he wins GSL and is safe. Rogue is #13 in WCS Korea right now, the first 5 players should all be safe for Blizzcon at this point. So there's about 8 players fighting for the last 3 Blizzcon spots (ByuL's chance in #14 is theoretical at best since he's not in GSL and dead last in SSL). Out of those, Maru is the only one who dropped out of GSL so far.
He will need to outperform a lot of strong players, and that's not accounting for the chance there's an upset GSL win by one of the players behind Rogue in the rankings.
Sexy Boi Rogue! So well deserved, every player he's faced in final group stage and onwards is champion-calibre, and fell to Rogue, with wins in every matchup. Sign me up :D

Rogue vs INnoVation at an offline tournament is what I've been wanting since Rogue hit monster tier during GSL season 2. If he wins, then finishes off the tournament to clinch a spot at the WCS Global Finals, I'll be very happy. (I'd say super happy, but it coming at the expense of Maru and sOs who I also like is tough)

And that was a damned good match! Trying to play macro games against Rogue - what was Inno thinking?
Someone really needs to update Rogue's liquipedia page. I might get around to it as I might have some days off soon.
Looking to WCS Global Finals, his group is: Neeb, soO, and Nerchio.
Rogue is in monster form, so his group really shouldn't matter, but that's a pretty decent one. Protoss is his best match up and he's beaten some pretty decent Zerg players over the last few months including soO (he's also lost to soO).
I'm definitely hyped. I just watched TY Snute and was not impressed with TY's TvZ form. If that's what TY brings, I fully expect Rogue to boat race him.
I'm somewhat worried about a finals against soO because of ZvZ, but Rogue's ZvZ form is pretty good and he spent most of 2016 as a consistent proleague ZvZ sniper winning despite everyone saying it is a coin flip match up.
Maybe I'm underestimating SpeCial, but he doesn't worry me at all.
I don't know whether to root for Sexy Boy or to support soO in getting his big win :'( Either way that last series was an incredible come-back event by Rogue, especially game 4!
I hope while streaming Rogue takes his hands off his keyboard and looks at his camera at the end of his won games. The only thing missing from his Blizzcon victory was him doing that at the end of game 6.

Rogue is the ultimate GOAP. Did he just cruise this tournament without dropping a map vs Protoss? :D That is just ridiculous how godlike he is in the matchup. GG, grats sexi boy !
This is PURE speculation, but I wonder if Rogue is single-handedly keeping the JinAir team alive. I wouldn’t be surprised if “winning Blizzcon” is a reward for keeping the team together another year, etc. And now the biggest IEM of the year...
(I read that part of the player’s winnings goes towards the team - they don’t get to keep all their winnings. Correct me if that’s wrong)

Maru won $126,000 in 2017, so it wasn't just Rogue.
Maru and sOs have also made decent money so far in 2018 and have good opportunities to bring in more, so it isn't just Rogue though he's obviously contributed the most so far.
On May 13 2018 08:42 Gottingen wrote: hey guys, what do u expect for Rogue's run on GSL season2? I really hope he can win the title
Rogue is super hard to predict because we haven't seen the ro16 groups and his performance on any given day can be super variable. Some days he looks like a complete god and on other days he looks mediocre to bad. I'm inclined to split the difference and say he makes it out of his ro16 group in second then falls in the ro8 to the eventual champion.
I think Rogue has GOAT potential but he's not very self-motivational. If he puts his mind into it, he can win any tournament. He's collected blizzcon, IEM world champion and GSL ST in a ridiculously short time span. Now that GSL should be his top priority, I am very confident in his performance this season. Unless he plays maru before raven patch that is.

Rogue would clap maru on any patch.
Not with his current ZvT he wouldn't.
his ZvT got so much worse since he clapped Maru at Katowice?
The 3 most impressive players in the rd of 32 in my opinion were Dark-Rogue-Maru. In that order. Rogue did not have to play a Terran in his matches. Maru went 2-0 but had 2 competitive maps vs Zanster. Dark beat Ryung and Inno 2-1.
Rogue will have a tough time vs Maru, TY or Inno but who doesn't?
7 of the final 16 are Protoss so he better be ready to play ZvP.

Considering since then he been losing to Inno and aLive, who aren't good as TY or Maru, yeah.
Hell even at katowice Rogue said he couldn't keep up with Maru in a macro game. That's why he went for roach allins and nydus after being down 0-2.
On May 15 2018 00:14 Rolltide wrote: Most people would call a roach all in after being down 0-2 to a truly great player courageous as shit. It was just that.
After beating Maru 3-2 he beat TY in dominant fashion 3-1. Then he beat Classic 4-0.
What other player in the world could do that?
Rogue said himself, in his own words, that he didn't feel he could beat Maru straight up. Cheesing when you think you can't win a macro game isn't courageous, it's the logical strategy to play.
I agree that no other zerg would have pulled that off (hell even Rogue shouldn't have, in game four his rush got in because Maru misplaced his wall). But I'm simply arguing that both points of the statement "Rogue would clap Maru on any patch like at Katowice" are wrong.
Hmm, interesting. Watched Rogue stream today and he is obviously crazy good, but he seems to struggle against Toss mid game pushes quite a lot. He is probably hiding some builds though cause I did not see him do any weird and cheesy stuff which he usually does against toss in Tournaments.
Once he gets to late game though... He completely trashed protoss ultimate carrier storm army 2 times. And his ZvT looks very very solid. He just finished playing Cure in Olimoleague on his stream and well, Cure looked like he was a league behind him at least.
Rougejwa has a tough group... Without the patch, I would say he advances 1st, but the patch can change things up quite a bit so lets see. If he loses to Inno it can be extremely hard for him to advance, as ZvZ is kinda unpredictable and soO is very good at the MU
Rogue just murdered a couple of nerds on his way for kung fu cup champ. Absolutely decimated Dark in the finals. I would say his ZvZ is pretty reliable.
Rogue has beaten soO 3 times on his stream a couple days ago. And then he crushed Dark in Kung fu cup And in Olimoleague? He looks unbeatable at ZvZ at the moment. His ZvT very solid as well. Funny thing is that his usually impeccable matchup (vs protoss), where he himself said he will never lose to a protoss when it matters seems to be his weak link. Well, lets see how he does in GSL
If Rogue investing in ling speed very late is indeed an anti-bunker rush strategy, that would seemingly shut down an important strategy for Maru. Of course, I would imagine Maru was involved in the development of that strategy, so there is a decent chance he's at least thought of ways to counter it.
On May 27 2018 12:28 yangluphil wrote: ro8 will be this season's finals. Can Rogue break his GSL ro8 curse?
I give him 55% chance against Maru.
I hope he would be more sneaky, like doing a proxy hatch or anything that can surprise Maru.
I'm sure if he has secret builds, ro8 would be the time to pull them off. Doesn't really have to be sneaky. Rogue is very 2rax proof so I'm not sure how Maru will try to mix it up. These guys are very close in terms of mechanics, control and late game. I give Rogue the edge since he's no doubt the more intelligent and adaptive player. Maru did step up in this regard recently though.
All the Zergs in Korea have to be freaking pissed at Rogue right now. They've been colluding to make the race look underpowered despite having both ZvT and ZvP in their favor and he refuses to join them.
Rogue is certainly capable of beating Maru. And I believe he's very motivated to win this GSL, which is the only big title missing from his resume. Ever since his rise last year, as long as the motivated Rogue shows up, he wins the tournament. Artosis curse is strong but Maru just won last season. Just how motivated is he going to be this season after getting winning 200k at WESG and finally getting his GSL title? Psychoanalysis aside, both players are extremely good in this matchup so it's going to be close anyway. In a bo7 I would give Rogue an even bigger advantage, but for bo5 I think it's only slightly in Rogue's favor.
Rogue lost. He won the late games as expected. He could have sharpened up the defense in G3 because you don't need that many queens with all the lings on one base vs 4 hellions. But the two losses vs tank push is partially bad build order and partially perfect execution by Maru. I guess there's always room for improvement. Hoping for a stronger season 3 from this guy.

Rogue is looking like his old self again. Maru, Serral, Rogue, Stats, Classic all looking super strong. TY and Dark had disappointing results, but to be fair, the bottom of the group is an easy win so it's not like the first match they played really matters anyway.
Rogue was amazing! In the match vs Serral he was again that Roguejwa from last year who crushed everyone for months and lifted that Blizzcon trophy. Its incredible how hungry he was for the win, in the last game he gave his absolute all, insane macro and multitasking, just bad luck to come up against Serral in that kind of form. Those facial expressions when he realized even this is not enough to beat that finnish schmuck were priceless. Otherwise that trophy would have been his for sure GGs
Well Rogue still looks hopeless against Terran, but his ZvP looks unstoppable again. Hopefully he will be in his prime form soon, just needs to watch and practice more of Dark TvZs I guess...

Yes, losing vs Cure in ZvT is not what is supposed to be... also his recent results vs INno and TY.... but not just the results, his how he plays it. Really wonk, far from his shape in 2017 or mid 2018.

Soo lost to INnoVation in GSL final and IEM final, and in a lot of tournament and they are good friends, he lost to a lot of people in final (even Gumiho) and still is good with them. Must be something else.
Rogue's loss in GSL hurt me the most out of any of his losses. He was playing so freaking well. Almost flawless, and the pre-game interview where he talks about the motivation his family gives him... god damn.

Yes I felt for him as well. I am sick and tired of him losing his RO8 matches although he is the better player. Was the same against soO, Maru and now Classic. Especially Maru and Classic were just lucky, went for cheese and gimmicks and it worked... On the other hand Rogue really needs to learn to be better at scouting and reacting to players which are playing BS against him....

Last time, he did better at scouting. You could see his flawless scouting at the matches with Maru and Classic in Katowice 2018. It seems like he doesn't bother scouting recently, focus on something else.
The last time that I recalled he did unorthodox approaches or sneaky plays was during the last GSL Super-tournament 2 in 2017.
I see the reincarnation of Rogue in Classic this year. That's how I used to love Rogue as a kind of player did the unusual strategies to counter his opponent.
Anyone has any info on Rogue? I am starting to feel seriously worried for him. He is losing absolutely every match he attends lately without even taking a single map. Rogue is an insanely good player. And while people say his games are boring, I think they're pretty fun as long as I'm not too attached to the other player. Hope he has the motivation to maintain his current form.
Rogue has solidified himself as not only the best zerg. (sorry Serral, Reynor, Dark) but the best player in the history of StarCraft 1 & 2. Most wins in tier 1 tournaments/global tournaments.
Since other players kind of reappeared onto the scene... I know that Rogue didn't even really communicate when he left, so I wouldn't expect him to make huge splashes when and if he returned. However, shouldn't his military service come to an end rather soon?
