Probably at the end of 2012, beginning of 2013. Before HOTS came out. Jaedong was failing, Zerg seemed weak. All hope seemed lost. HOTS seemed like it wouldn't bring balance to the force. There were witchhunts back to back and DJwheat, and INcontrol (and grack and destiny to a lesser extent) went full retard I just left and didn't really come back. Fast forward a year and a half and i'm bored as fuck at 6am in the morning derping on youtube. The best of starcraft II 2013 is somehow a recommended video even though I haven't watched ANYTHING at all related in a year (unless you count day9 xcom as related). My friend had been talking to me about playing sc2 again since he had started up and none of our other friends were remotely good. So I click the video. Fluff intro. Jaedong, So close. Like I've heard he hasn't quite broken yet. Jaedong wins a game? Nice. Holy fuck. Bomber vs Scarlett clips have the muta vs ling dance. Banelings. Oh my god. I have to watch the game. This game. This game has singlehandedly made me buy HOTS. I don't know how long I'll play. But I'm back for now. And I'm a fan. Thanks scarlett! Glad to see you come back to Starcraft! But... Zerg weak at the end of 2012? What were you smoking back then, I wonder? Zerg seemed weak in certain situations and matchups in WoL before the Queen upgrade change, I think from then on Zerg players got more confident in holding off early pressures and do proper macro into BL and Infestors... That's how I remember it anyway, but I could be completely wrong in my timelines.
The Queen buff was in May 2012, though. After that, Zerg was the dominant race in most tournaments until the release of HotS.

Oh, well, could be a lot worse. She could have gotten Jim or someone like that. I'm just happy she didn't have to play Bomber yet, that is supposed to be the final of the challenger league. Challenger league is only a single bo5 now :<

Could be a lot worse. Imagine if you had gotten Check, Bomber, or Violet. I feel bad for Top, Jim, and Sen.
Cowman got through qualifiers playing only easy opponents, and even then he didn't *really* qualify since Sonic beat him in the RO8. He's good, but I don't think he's at the level of Hitman. I just watched Hitman play the SYF Invitational, and the guy is amazingly good at early-mid game control, and his decision-making is impeccable. I'd be surprised if Cowman is that good.

Edit: so MLG online groups are finalized, she's up against Major; illusion and incontrol. Definitely a winnable group, and it's terran heavy which is cool.

I quite like the sound of this group. This should be a good week for Scarlett

exciting news! can't wait for the matches
It's Hot Bid from Team Liquid. He intentionally tries to make the interviews awkward it's his thing, but he does do a good job.
oops sorry didn't know that. i watched it again and he is funny. But he is nowhere near at Khaldor's level, I mean Khaldor really is an artist, he is like the only interviewer that made Scarlett comfortable with being interviewed.

Objectively speaking this is the best opponent anyone can hope for in this season's matchups

I don't know about that. We've seen a really unknown protoss player beat Scarlett (Hitman) simply because he was unknown.

We've seen a really unknown protoss player beat Scarlett (Hitman) simply because he was unknown. It was also right off a nightmare tournament in ASUS where everything went wrong and the players had to wait for hours and play at awful times, and then a flight home. Conditions do matter, you cannot possibly do your best if you're exhausted.
Hitman beat Bomber a bunch of times on ladder too, he's lethal in the early/mid game.

Anyone who laddered on NA knew who Hitman was though (and how lethal his greedy openers into 2base timing playstyle is), it's not the same comparison to make here trust me
Also what squat said

thanks for the link!

--------- edit - Scarlett was clearly superior, much bettter tactics, decision making, map control, in game 1 I think she could've taken him out a few times but she played it safe; game 2 she simply dominated, Happy understood and responded to the mutas but he was too passive and allowed Scarlett to take control of the map, it was a matter of time.
I found it somewhat annoying how Happy leaves the matches a bit too soon.

I've been watching a lot of foreigners play lately and it's awesome to see how many zergs have adopted Scarlett's mass-muta, stay on lair forever, burrowed banelings style. She's revolutionized the metagame!

glhf in wcs america challenger league <3

They weren't even close. Cowman didn't stand a chance.
