I don't see why it's not a good reason. He could care less about that match as it doesn't benefit him in anyway possible. I'm not surprised he forfeited, would I have liked to see him play? Sure, but he probably wanted to relax after getting knocked out.

I'm watching it right now. So far in game 1 it's pretty standard 3 hatch for JD and stc is doing a poke with reaper/hellion. stc delayed his 3rd cc for a faster stim and hellion/marine timing but JD made a ton of lings and some banes and held it off. JD drones up his third and starts muta/ling/bane play taking a fourth behind it. stc trying to drop harass while securing his third but it's getting shut down hard. stc pushes out, trying to drop JD's third while moving his army to attack his 4th. both players still on 1/1. JD has 4 burrowed banes on the ramp near his fouth, destroys all of stcs marines with them, cleans up mines, pushes back reinforcements to stc's base and stc gg's. Pretty overwhelming victory for JD in game 1.

game 2 JD opens 4 queens on 2 hatch, stc with cc first on low ground. Third hatch for JD, stc going for more rax on 2 base instead of 3rd CC again. STC doing hellion/marine 2 base pressure. He kills a ton more stuff this time, 15 workers and a lot of lings, gets up 10+ supply ahead of JD. JD gets mutas out finally and stabilizes, and stc only finally lands his third CC at 13:45. JD down 20 supply now, both even on upgrades. STC pushes JD's 4th with a ton of marines and mines, looks like hes doing well. STC's bio gets sandwiched by banes and JD holds him back. STC is leading a parade into JD's 4th, JD finally pushes it back as stc's 3/3 finishes. STC is somehow down 40 supply now. No 4th still for STC at 21 mins, he keeps trying to push out onto the map but JD's superior muta/ling/bane numbers are too much and he gets pushed back to his nat and gg's.

so yea! maybe i got carried away ;x

TLDR: JD played well.
