Updated the Publications and Famous Brood War Games sections
Please keep sending your JD material!! I'm still working on the graphic section banners, don't worry.

My mission statement for this fanclub is to be THE one stop place for anything and EVERYTHING JD. Games, VODs, Replays, Interviews, Results, News, etc etc etc... I want this to be a JD HUB, and the best fanclub in TL. Obviously I can't do this on my own, so like I said, please continue to send me all your JD content!! The Tyrant deserves the best :D.
Right now I want to get on compiling all of JD's best SC2 games so far, so if you have any games you remember/can't forget, PLEASE PM ME THEM and I'll see about adding them to the fanclub.

And as always, thanks for reading

What are the pros and cons of living and being active overseas, as compared to living and being active locally?

Firstly, I've had a long time in this professional career, and so already have the ability to control myself. I am very suited to life in a foreign team.

There is more freedom in everything in a foreign team, and so I have to create the results that I want myself. It's different just on this point alone, and I am very satisfied with it. Even though I don't know why, the feelings that foreign fans have for me have already passed the peak, and it's at a level where it's like they love me, and it makes me feel really blessed.

Title: In Search of Lost Time: EG.JD's Road to Blizzcon
Written By: Christielle
Written On: November 4th, 2013
Publication Type: Article (Hype)
Exerpt:
There is a fundamental difference between Jaedong and everyone else in the tournament. He's not like Bomber or MC, who erased their pasts and reinvented themselves as champions. He's not like MMA or Maru, who barely got started in Brood War before an opportunity called SC2 came along. He's not like INnoVation or Soulkey, for whom Brood War died too quickly for them to realize their potential. He's not like TaeJa or Polt, who face no shadows of the past as they began their professional careers with StarCraft 2.

Unlike the sixteen other players, Jaedong has already stood on top of the world. He is the only player who is competing for the title of the best, past and present. For Jaedong, the WCS Finals are not about rebirth or the realization of a lifelong dream. It's about the continuation of a reign that was interrupted in 2010.

Written On: July 24th, 2013
Publication Type: Article
Excerpt:
For a player like EG.Jaedong, a Brood War legend, a solid SC2 Proleague player, and multiple podium finisher at international tournaments, one would think that the WCS America Challenger League would have been a piece of cake. A walk in the park. A pre-nerf hellbat drop against a player without a minimap. Little more than a warm-up before he entered the WCS America Premier League.

However, starting at the end of August, Lee Jae-Dong will be able to start talks with KESPA over his desires regarding his lease to EG and possible return to Team 8. If he wishes to go to another team instead of Team 8 after his lease, he must negotiate with KESPA over these those three months. Alternatively, if EG wishes to extend the lease and he agrees, there is the possibility that he will remain with EG.

Title: A Tyrant claims his Kingdom - Jaedong Interview
Written By: Michael Dorrill
Written On: December 17th, 2012
Publication Type: Interview
Excerpt:
Jaedong sits down for an interview with EvilGeniuses.gg Michael "Achilles" Dorrill. He was, without a doubt, one of the best Brood War players of all time. He won 3 OSL titles, two MSL titles, two WCG Korea titles, and a WCG World Championship. His rivalry with Flash is possibly the greatest in the history of StarCraft. Now, he has transitioned to StarCraft 2. The Tyrant has come, and those who oppose him shall be swept aside. Lee "Jaedong" Jae Dong is one of the newest players on the Evil Geniuses roster and recently made his EG debut during the SPL season opener against KT Rolster. Excitement and expectations are high for this Brood War giant.

Title: Jaedong - The Tyrant who hated to lose
Written By: Thorin
Written On: December 7th, 2012
Publication Type: Article
Excerpt:
Beyond just the numbers and trophies Jaedong was an incredible specimen aesthetically, constantly pressuring his opponent and looking for that opening from which to kill his opponent and end the game. Like a prowling wolf seeking out the scent of blood from wounded prey Jaedong's aggressive playing style, backed up by second-to-none mechanics, ensured he was not just a great player but a great winner. There were times in BW history when Jaedong could end games simply with his mutalisks around the nine minute mark, even against the likes of Flash.

Title: Jaedong' interview with Thisisgame after joining EG
Written By: Thisisgame
Written On: December 6th, 2012
Publication Type: Interview
Excerpt:
The off-season has been long because of contract issues. When other Team 8 players completed their contracts with the team, only mine was delayed. This has shaken me mentally and that's probably why the time felt so long. I want to apologize to my parents for making them worry about me because of this. They must be worrying about me a lot and I want try my best to perform well for them this season. This news about joining EG must be shocking for fans. They must feel that I’m switching teams a little too often. I think this is a positive opportunity for me. I want the fans to cheer for me a lot as well. I went to EG because I think EG's executive director Alex Garfield really wanted me and showed his sincerity towards me. Please don’t misunderstand. I will do my best in this season to show my relentlessness. I will show up in the match under the name of EG. Please cheer for me and for our teammates.

Title: Interview With Jaedong
Written By: John Perrd
Written On: October 29th, 2012

I see that the e-Sports entertainment has so much more to give. However, seeing the industry become stale and underdeveloped because of certain issues makes me grieve greatly as a member of the e-Sports community.

Even though the e-Sports entertainment is going through a recession, I believe that this is just one small part of the growing of this industry. This industry is decided by the fans. I personally believe that the fans that love the game and the players are the ones who are running this whole entertainment. For that reason, I reasonably think that the ones who are leading this industry should change their position from the past and listen more from the fans. If everyone makes some sort of compromises and think more deeply about this industry, those things will eventually become the core that will change the hearts of the fans.

At that time, progamer was an unfamiliar job to people so school didn't understood me.

Starcraft 1 has a really long history, and it's changed a lot with the times. One race is strong, then another race finds a way to topple that race, and that cycle has repeated itself many times. Maybe you could think this is almost the end, and that everything there is to do has been done, but feel that if Brood War kept going, there would be plenty of possibilities for the gamers to change the game with their efforts and research. I think it's always open.

Excerpt:
TG=If you had to pick one person whose personality in-house is most different from what other teammates had imagined it to be, who would it be?

JD=I think all of our team would pick me (laughs). And I agree with it (laughs). I am shy around strangers and use my words sparingly, so a lot of people have an image of a serious, anti-social Jaedong. But once you get to know me, I talk a lot, with a dialect [think redneck] at that, and I often swear (laughs). My teammates who had been expecting Jaedong the dominator now treat me like a kid who lives next door (laughs). I have recently been trying my best to cut myself some slack and not take everything so seriously.

DES=Many people are curious why it took you two so long to become friends.

JD=We just never had a chance to (laughs).
Bisu=We weren't awkward; we just didn't know each other.
JD=Being awkward and unacquainted are two different things (laughs).
Bisu=I guess personality played a role, too. We both open up to our friends and speak comfortably, but can't talk to people we aren't close with. Also, we wait for others to reach out to us first. Since both of us are like that, it took us a lot of time to become friends. Also (P)Stork and (T)Flash are on Bnet a lot, so I get to talk to them, but Jaedong is never on (laughs).
JD=It's true that I rarely go on Bnet (laughs)

I would normally play soccer, but it's too cold these days so I play WinningEleven instead. I like things where there are clear winners and losers ^^

- The conclusion to what many TLers would dub the greatest Bo5 of the 2010-11 season. Jaedong has been taken to the final set against the surprising PvZ prowess of CJ Protoss Snow, who took him apart in games 2 and 4 with meticulous Shuttle play.

- Taken from what many JD fans might remember as the "TvZ imbalance" MSL, where Jaedong played against the three strongest TvZ players on the planet in consecutive Bo5s on T>Z favoured maps. In this semifinal game, Jaedong is down 2-1 against the Invisible Terran, and resorts to a gutsy mass Mutalisk build to take advantage of Triathlon's peculiar base layout. Three infested Command Centers later, Light taps out, forcing a 5th set.

- At this point, Calm had been the only Zerg player ever to defeat Jaedong in a Bo5 ZvZ, beating him to advance to the finals of the Avalon MSL. Now, two seasons later, the two meet again in another MSL semifinal. Here, Jaedong reads his opponent's build perfectly and executes a daring 5 pool, predicting Calm's 12 hatchery on the macro-oriented Odd-Eye. The VOD flashes to Calm's FPVOD too, during his moment of panic.

- When people bring up "epic ZvZ", the most commonly thought of games are those that have gone to Hive Tech. Zero vs. Type-b, Jaedong vs. Yellow, great vs. Hydra - but for me, this particular game has always stood out. There isn't anything particularly special or bizarre about the game, but it is a tense watch all the way through.

- This crucial win happened during one of the first ever times anybody here on TL doubted Jaedong's ZvZ skills. After a 0-2 loss to Effort in the GOMTV Classic, CJ Entus sends its star Zerg against Oz in this Proleague playoff super ace match - ZvZing Jaedong on purpose was something unheard of at this time. A tense micro battle ensues, during which JD's killer eyes come out. The banner for this thread is taken from this match.

- Meticulous preparation had earned Fantasy's mech variations two victories in the Batoo OSL finals, but Jaedong had clawed his way back, setting up this final clash in Set 5. Key moment: Fantasy glitches a Vulture across the Medusa back-temple minerals, only to meet the defensive powers of... a Jaedong drone.

- Having successfully all-killed KTF in the Winner's League semifinals by sending Jaedong first, Oz figures hey, why not, and does it once more against CJ Entus in the finals. Jaedong successfully takes out the rookie EffOrt in a ZvZ, and comes up against the experienced Iris in set 2. A game most famous for Jaedong's ridiculous Mutalisk micro as he manages to eventually take 5 bases with the power of all-in Mutalisk harass alone, including microing two groups at once to oneshot Iris's turret defense.

- One of the most exciting games of the LeeSsangRok, this match occurs during the 2009 Winner's League Playoffs. Back then, the lineup (or in WL's case, the first player) was released ahead of time, and so KTF had a number of days to prepare, as Hwaseung Oz had elected to send Jaedong first. One by one, KTF's players all fell, and finally the Ultimate Weapon was unveiled to try and stop the Tyrant on the verge of a Jaedong all-kill. Watch for JD's multitasking in this one.

In typical Jaedong fashion, however, full rage-mode is activated in this anticipated rematch. Prefaced by some pre-game trashtalk by Firebathero: "I will send Jaedong into a slump so severe he will never recover." Watch for BM at the very end!

Jaedong's OSL win over Stork had cemented him as a great Zerg, but in Jaedong's early days, his ZvP was downright atrocious (having lost to Rock in a Bo5). Despite his OSL victory, many questioned what would have happened if Bisu had made the finals instead. In the next MSL, these questions were about to answered as Bisu placed Jaedong in his Ro32 group, setting up the two giants for this epic clash on Blue Storm. Famous for making TL explode with "how did JD win that?!?!" discussions. (Special bonus: Bisu's first-person view of this game.)
