I'm not sure, maybe someone can explain to me what went wrong in the games and how Flash could have done better, but here is my view of why he lost these games to Soulkey and Skyhigh: 1. Game vs Soulkey: he constantly got harassed by a fair but not overwhelming number of Mutalisk multiple times. Should have built more turrets or vikings, maybe? In my opinion, he didn't do this, because that would have meant sacrificing bio units? 2. Game vs Soulkey: His defense didn't look that bad, but he should have secured it one more step after seeing Soulkey fully committing to the all-in. Successfully defending this would have given him the victory. Like a few in the LR have pointed out. A few tanks on the highground would have worked wonders. LOL. 1. Game vs SkyHigh: I don't know, there was a time when he seemed ahead, but the defended poorly against harass and drops. Finally with the game drawn out a bit with no action, SkyHigh came back with a superior air force and wiped him out. I think he needed turrets here, a lot. Do it like Skyhigh in the 2. Game: build turrents when your air force loses. 2. Gane vs SkyHigh: For me actually his most solid performance, with only small mistakes piling up and great play by SkyHigh which finally edges him out. SkyHigh built like 10 turrents to secure his tanks' position. Simple and effective. That said, I'm in no position to blame him for not doing THINGS that are obvious from a observer's point of view. He is the progamer with 7-8 years of tactical schooling and highly competitive experiences. I just don't understand, or maybe there is nothing to understand and it's just the daily life of a progamer to engage in wrong or unfortunate decisions and lose. They may be sitting there and already know "oh this is a bad day, I don't feel my opponent, I don't feel the flow of right decisions, might as well pretend doing a good performance then gg, plus make a dissappointed face" HAHAHA "oh. widow mine just killed 5 probes, maybe the other guy is worse off"

Flash said that he cannot perform well, when he doesn't feel like it. Do you have a source for that?

Lol this post is from november last year. http://www.twitch.tv/taketv/popout?videoId=a589490778 (5:42:30) The interview after his win over Taeja in the HSC X. Here we see a more outgoing and talkative Flash, imo. About your other concern, I think Flash has always been like this, not participating in many qualifiers for outside tournaments. If he had been I'm sure we would have seen in him featured in a lot more tournaments. I'm not sure how much of it is attributed to his own will and how much is due to the restrictions put up on him by his team.

I hope there aren't wrist / hand issues secretly behind this. I really want to see The Spark back in Flash's play in LotV, like I am seeing with many once disgruntled players. And as a final thought, notwithstanding the fact LotV is in early beta still, I also hope the intense pace of LotV with it's mineral changes really help to show the non believer, or those lacking memory, why Flash was called bonjwa in Broodwar. <3 you Flash.
