No transgender / gender identity / gender equality talk in this fanclub please. |
I love all of this. It makes me think of the olympics, how Clay pidgeon shooting for a while opened up to women and men to compete for the same medals. I mean you aim and shoot. There's nothing in it that would separate the skills between men and women. When it happened men and women turned out to clearly be around the same skill level, yet somehow the conservative suits found reasons to separate the men and women from to compete for their genders medals.
And it reminds me of a golfer who complained loudly and publicly about the Swedish female golfer Annika Sörenstam competing in a mans tournament. She turned out to get a better score than him even though none of them qualified for the main tournament.
And here we are. E-sports, something growing, something for our future. Something which hasn't had the chance to turn to conservative habits.
And a female player is slaying koreans with her talent. There's something beautiful in seeing all this happen. In how a community welcomes it and how e-sports won't separate men from women.
For every win you take Scarlett it's a win for a brighter more tolerant future. I'm your fan and I wish you all the best and that you never let ignorant words get to you.

Men and women aren't biologically undifferentiated. And Scarlett as far as I understand is a male.

Hey I just wanted to post here to lend support to Scarlett. I've never had to deal with, or been close to someone dealing with, gender issues. It's a very weird thing to think about to me personally, I've never worried about what gender I identified with. It must be very alienating in some circumstances to have life put you in that situation.
It was really obvious she was nervous during the interview with Hotbid (awkward! lol) but if she ends up going through this thread, I hope she realizes she has people behind her who support good players no matter what their circumstances are. I'm sure the whole nervousness when speaking on camera thing will disappear with time. Once people see you're not afraid to be who you are in front of thousands of people, I doubt any of this male/female stuff will come up anymore.

Dont be so ignorant. If you saw the hotbid video, you can def tell she is a girl.

Edit: Best Post Award has been removed due to impractical voting. That Jojo guy didn't think that one through... pffft.
So now:
Attention! Fanclub Award ideas needed!
We need to be able to determine the winner through a poll or something that does not involve voting via post (as that would flood the thread with nomination posts!
More information in the Scarlett Fan Club Awards section in the OP!

Please don't be discouraged at all. I can use all the help in the world. I am on page 10 of 51 when it comes to putting the members down I wish it was possible to share the "Edit" function with someone. Would require a lot of trust obviously but yeah, that would be cool!
If you have any ideas, put them forward. I am merely the guy putting it all together in the OP. I'm glad you like the Award thingy Awards are cool.

I so wish that were true. But people have a way of segregating things out so that there's an us and a them. I hope my expectation that this will never completely fade is wrong, but I whole heartedly doubt it.
On the other hand, one thing I know for sure is that the people supporting her are not going to stop in their avidness, myself included. I hope to see her work hard and show the world that gender bullshit, whatever her circumstances are, doesn't mean she can't be a bad ass nerd baller.

Ill nominate day9's post!

I don't think the "Best post" award is a good idea, the nominations will needlessly flood the thread. But the overall idea of awards is great
Scarlett, I'd be interesting to know which team you're hoping to join. You already mentioned that Prime is your favourite, but what about a "foreign" team?

I got a GTX 570 for her free since I just upgraded to GTX 680.
I'd be willing to assemble and send one off.
