I never saw that game, I guess, but I assume he got his 3rd and 4th barracks up faster than you did, and actually managed to get a bunker up? MVP doesn't actually try to get the bunker up, but he does builds it to force ling production possible spines and drone defence. But he kinda pretends on doing a big 2 rax fakes it and keeps marines and scvs alive. Later then adds on 2 more for an all-in later. So yeah and it's all good. | ||

If the 6 pooler's lings cannot reach the other zerg's base within 7 seconds or less, then it seems like 7 pool is better. Even if the lings could reach the 7 pooler's base within 7 seconds, I still think the 7 pooler will win due to the 1 drone advantage. Also, with a 7 pool, you have exactly enough to get a queen at 14 supply and then another overlord shortly after with constant ling production. I can see some validity in the argument that the 6 pool is ever so faster and hence might be good vs a terran to get in there before the wall is up. I would still probably 7 pool anyway due to the fact that you can transition easier and there will be no hiccups in production. My view might be changed depending on standard walling times on maps that require 2 depots and a barracks, but then I'll have to factor in base distances, etc, etc. That's the last of my off-topic chat, heh. This is a fanclub after all. I was just winging it real quick to see the basic timings, I didn't mineral boost or anything (though I think my split was fine). The main point I was trying to make is that 6pool is very different from 7pool in that it gets the initial lings out significantly faster (yes, 7 seconds is significant), that's all. The specific timings are less important. | ||
