Well, he is out of GSL but there are still several tournaments left though AKA SSL, IEM Shanghai and Super Tournament. I hope he will do well at those events though if he wants to keep his spot in Top 8 ranking. Out of GSL so early does hurt him quite a bit because GSL points reward is biggest out of all remaining tournaments in this year.

Can't lose in the Ro4 if you never make it to the Ro4. 
But Maru is still doing well in WCS points, he just needs to make some good runs at SSL/IEM/Super Tourney 2 in order to secure his Blizzcon spot.

Maru can only royal road tournaments though.
He's now rank 8 in wcs, but herO/dark/aLive/ByuN/Solar are all still in gsl. Expect him to drop out of top 8 once the ro16 is played.
He would have to reach the finals of IEM or Super Tournament to make up for losing in GSL. I can't see him getting the finals of SSL either, considering its probably the most stacked tournament to win.

tbh I'm glad he didn't get into GSL vs the World. After craping out of GSL he needs to focus on tournaments with WCS points

After Dark and herO advance in their group, they come above Maru now. aLive who also advances is only 25 points behind Maru. I hope he will do well at IEM and Super and hopefully aLive/ByuN/Solar won't do so well at those. Otherwise, he will be in trouble for BlizzCon spot.

There are 4 tournaments left for WCS Korea players, and a lot situations can happen, so I will wait until IEM finish to analyse Maru's situation. However, I agree that he really need to step up at IEM now, at least compared to aLive/Byun/Solar and even Dark or Hero.
However, I still see we can be optimistic. Alive/Byun/Solar has been very normal in GSL from the beginning of the year (None of them reach R8), and only Solar has stellar performance in SSL Premier (yet he has 600 points less than Maru).
Right now, let's wait for IEM to see.

Maru, Hes actually a really good protoss. The fact hes 6K + and has made GM before with his protoss says alot. Im sure if he could enter WCS he would make it far with his protoss lol (Which is basically a meme) But True also made the comment Maru is really great with protoss. also its a shame I always miss Maru streaming ;(

Maru lost to Inno (some epic games on both sides though), and will play ByuN in the decider. He should be fine since he slaughtered ByuN earlier.

So somehow Maru lost to ByuN despite going 3-2 against him.
He seems to give up so easily, he was 10x better in the first series

Maybe he is fatigue after game 2 and 3 with Inovation. Both games are very long and nerve - breaking.
With Hero/Dark/Byun all goes to top 8:
- Hero & Dark are 500 more points compared to Maru. It's not impossible for Maru to catch up, but it's really hard.
- Byun is 300 points less than Maru. Best scenario for Maru here is Byun beaten by soO.
Maru still got chance to go to Blizzcon. However, he could not control his fate now.

SSL is so stacked that I doubt Maru will have any point from that. His result is 2-2 right now (ranked 7), but his 2 winning series coming from winning Byul (who is 0-4) and herO (who is 1-3), so he still has a lot of stronger opponents ahead.
I agree with you that if ByuN/aLive/Solar lose in GSL ro16, Maru still have decent chance. That's why I said he could not control his fate because he have to wait for these player's poor performance to have a shot.
