Most of those games are from 2 years ago and from a different game. Doesn't really mean anything for the present. And their only match in LotV, Zest won.

Probably Hero but he isn´t on the same level as Zest.
Maybe Parting since they seem to be friends but then again Parting hasn´t played in what feels like forever so I dunno. He probably has some other Protoss friends there but I wouldn´t know about a really high level Protoss though.

Taeja said he was looking forward to the game though so I dunno. Seems like he is confident. I wasn´t too impressed with his games vs Trap though.

Hopefully he can make it through. Taeja winning GSL in 2016. That is something I would love to see + further extending his Premier Tournament wins count and that additional title would be the most hard fought for title in SC2

Agreed, would be really sick. Unfortunately, as incredible and historically unmatched as his vP lategame is, i think it is just a bad meta, and an even worse time to be facing zest. He seems pretty invincible right now. But to be fair if there's a terran to do it...

Is there a date for when they play the Ro8? I need to make sure I'm awake for this.

I have a feeling TaeJa is going to pull some incredible games from Zest or just Bop him 3-0 like he did in Shenzen.

If four medivacs didn't get sniped in that match, then Taeja would have won.

Winning GSL means you get a direct seed to the Global Finals.

Before the region restrictions? Possibly. Liquid has always had some of the best players at any given time. And if they had the same practice regimen and resources as a KeSPA team, I think they would have done pretty well. But then again, TL seems to be more about the experience and allowing the players to live their dreams and play all over the place against the best whenever they feel, rather than prestige of the Korean scene.

Can we please get some TaeJa vs TY Finals hype going? I think TaeJa and Zest play game of the year; while Losira manages to upset Dear. TaeJa has shown to be pretty good at the TvZ meta and he'll take care of Losira easily enough, going 4-1. Then it's on to the Finals to contend with TY, a formidable TvT player himself. After going back and forth for 4 games, TaeJa takes the next two matches with clever reaper play and Liberator harass. 4-2 and he's your 2016 GSL Season 1 Champion.

I also want a TaeJa > TY finals, seems like a really interesting possibility.

One step at a time guys :D

I am just hoping he can upset Zest. If Losira manages to upset Dear I can see Taeja then going to the finals but if Dear makes it through it could go either way. And I think herO might be the one who makes it through the other half of the bracket. Both him and Zest make PvT look incredibly easy and nearly imba in favor of Toss. I also think TvP isnt Taeja´s strongest match up atm or should I rather say I think it is his weakest.

If he beats Zest though winning GSL isn´t so far off anymore :D and like ZerOCool said. The salt would be glorious

Well said. However, playing slight devils advocate, if TaeJa beats Zest i really don't see how he can lose to a different protoss. Zest just seems to be on another level right now, even above herO. In my mind this is the biggest hurdle there is... All assuming he plays well of course.

Yea Zest is arguably the one who is supposed to win this GSL. Then again even if Taeja wins vs him Dear and herO have way more cheesier builds and with Protoss you never know :D

$200,000 for 1st at Global Finals? TaeJa needs to win this GSL and then coast the rest of the year. Show up to the Global Finals and just rekt faces. He wins the Global Finals and rides off into the sunset to start his military training. I can dream.
