Everyone at MLG Providence is a pro and any pro can take a game off of another pro. Winning MLG makes you a monster? No. MLG comparably to GSL means jack crap. However, I would like to congratulate Leenok for bringing his "A" game and acting like a true pro at the MLG stage. I think most (intelligent) posters recognize this. Give the guy his gratz without having to stomp the feelings of posters to the ground.

I just hate when in finals of big tournament winner always goes for one thing, one build It was painful to watch. Leenock deserved winning, he was the best but never again I want to see this style of playing. I will definitely avoid watching Leenock's games - at least those against P. He only did that style game after game after seeing that Naniwa does a greedy FE every game. If you want a more fun example of his PvP look at his games vs Huk, they were amazing.

Those game's are not indicative of Leenocks usual play. He usually plays a extremely solid, air tight macro game, but he recognized NanIwa was playing extremely greedy in going for Forge Fast Expand every game, and he punished it the best way he could. Look at his other 35 or so games he played at this MLG if you want to see his normal play, kid is fucking insane.

Congratulations to Leenock for the win as well. But in regards to the build order, he chose the most effective way to deal with Naniwa's FFE. Since Naniwa doesn't vary his builds at all throughout the tournament against Zerg I don't see why Leenock needs to. It's like saying stop playing rock when you know all your opponent does is playing scissors

It's Naniwa's own damn fault for going the same build every game and then dropping so few cannons. Leenock has really really good ZvP (check out some of the earlier games in the tournament, he does lots of different things), but there's no reason to change your opening if your opponent is going to hand you a victory every time.
