That was just a really tough tournament. There's very, very few people who would be upset with losing 1-2 to Jaedong's ZvP, Taeja, and Polt. All of them are really good. And HerO showed that he's basically at that level.

Still very enjoyable to watch. Looking forward to next time!

Honestly, whenever HerO lost in this tournament I felt like it was more him losing than the opponent winning. We all know that HerO will find his form again. And when he does I will still be here to support him, as always. GO HERO!

I agree with DarkLordOlli. HerO's just in hibernation this year. He'll be back soon. HERO FIGHTING!!!

HerO, I have never stopped supporting you since I created this fanclub. You are the biggest reason I watch any tournament (a lot of times the only reason), and when you don't play I find Starcraft 2 boring. We all know that you have the skills to beat anyone and win any tournament. Just keep on playing and keep us entertained.

As TaeJa wins DreamHack Winter 2013 this marks the fifth tournament in a row that HerO has been eliminated(or knocked down to LB), by the winner of the tournament, in the mid stages of the tournament.
  • 2013-10-10/13 IEM NY Life RO 8
  • 2013-10-25/27 WCS S3 Finale Dear Ro16
  • 2013-11-08/09 WCS BlizzCon SoS Ro16
  • 2013-11-14/17 HSCVIII TaeJa Ro8
  • 2013-11-28/30 DH Winter TaeJa Ro8 - Knocked down to LB. Eliminated by Polt.

In my opinion most of his losses has come as a result of not being able to capitalize off of an advantage. Often times just because of poor macro (Just watch the games vs Dear at BlizzCon and vs Polt at DreamHack).
In my opinion, HerO played his best during his time on EG/TL under Coach Park. I also think most of his flaws could be eliminated by having someone analyze his games and convey the results to him.

This is in agreeance with DarkLordOlli saying HerO is more losing than his opponents winning.

What do you guys think?

Most of the losses were onesided and the skill difference was pretty clear imo. (except for Dear, but even then the macrogames weren't up to par)

I agree that he was in his best shape during HOTS proleague. HerO hasn't played on his highest level for months now and you could see that in his elimination matches. On top of that DHW was his 5th tournament in 6 weeks or something like that. You can't expect anything special.

That's a result of unsufficient practice and he's known for throwing away advantages, because of stupid lategame engagements or risky play, although it happened more often in 2012.

I don't know if he'll stay in the IM house or not, but they participate in proleague next season. This looks like a good oppurtunity to practice with them if you ask me. Let's see what happens, HerO deserves some time to relax ^_^

anyways even if many people want duckdeok to win.. there is a very low probability that will happen .. especially when the first person you meet normally all-kills in teamleagues with a really high winrate in all matchups

if the duck is able to pull a miracle and win against innovation then probably the most far he could get is semi finals if ever MC wins over maru .. if not then i dont even think he can even get out of r16

seriously this tournament is just too stacked for him to win .. everyone aside from duckdeok are either multiple championship winners or either championship contenders(could be both) .. he is the only exception in the list

and oh before i forget .. 3/16 .. 13 more to go
