In any case, you don't insult them, you educate them. On October 29 2011 21:05 ayayouyouyaille wrote: PAPAW> error, he is indeed french. he has tunisian origins but he is french, asswipe. When he was saying that Stephano wasn't French, he meant that Stephano's heritage is not natively from France, which is correct. Don't insult someone for stating a simple thing like that. In the US, this is asked around all the time what someone's heritage is (assuming it wasn't from 300 years ago and they have no idea). Of course everyone knows some person in question is an American citizen, but it's not a bad thing to ask where they're parents or grandparents or great-grandparents, etc. came from. I'll be damned if someone in the US starts calling people asswipes because they said someone whose parents are from Korea is ethnically Korean. On October 29 2011 21:07 ayayouyouyaille wrote: '(arab) ' i mean, what kind of bloody idiot are you ? Again, why do you insult him? In addition, Tunisians by any demographics and cultural categorizations are considered Arabs. They are considered part of the Arab world. Unless everyone in the world is wrong, Tunisians are considered Arabs. On October 29 2011 21:21 FaRess wrote: Since when being tunisian means your an arab anyway, god your stupid You're correct. There is the 1% of the population which is Berber. Here's a question: Since when does being Mexican mean you're Hispanic, anyways? Hmmm, maybe it has to do with speaking Spanish and having a heavily-Spanish influenced culture?? Since when you ask? Since the spread of Semitic culture and language into northern Africa. Tunisia is considered by anyone to be part of the Arab world, and is in the Arab League, the people speak Arabic and follow a culture rather similar to that of other Arab countries. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt: Arab is a bit of a blanket term. Lebanon is a world different from Saudi Arabia politically, socially, ideologically, etc. for example. However, linguistically and culturally, there are many similarities easily. I have never heard anything about how Tunisia is radically different from the other Arab countries that it is impossible to categorize 99% of its population as Arabs. However, what I have heard is propaganda in Tunisia the past some odd years associating Arabs with socially backward folks like the Saudis and with the stupidities of Sharia. I fully support the government for condemning these sorts of things, but they aren't the definition of Arab. For Tunisians to not be Arab, they would have to drop the Arabic language, drop the Arabic culture and traditions, and then pick up the ones from the Berbers. Until then, every categorization in the world will consider them to be Arab. In any case, I think it is settled that the man's very recent heritage is from Tunisia. | ||
