Good luck in Code S Stephano! It has more prestige on sc2 since it's way harder to win though. All the aces did poorly in Up&Down and solid proleaguers didn't even qualify whereas some trainees managed to. For tomorrow I think he will do fine vs the terran (I don't remember who is the fourth playet besides DRG and Bogus but I think he is terran), it's 60-40 vs Bogus but it will be hard vs DRG. Good luck, want to see him go kinda far, french ruling the GSL!

He can definitely beat Innovation, who's still a scary opponent. He needs to watch out for Innovation's 10 minute timing attack, which he makes work through a combination of Zerg's not expecting it (primarily because Terran stopped doing it) and great micro and macro. I don't have all of the timings worked out but I'm pretty certain Stephano's roach-hydra build crushes that push. (His upgrades for the roaches should be finishing right around the time Innovation is attacking.) Hack is good but if Stephano can run through MKP, MVP, etc., I can't see him struggling v. Hack. DRG seems to be playing some of the best SC2 of his career again. (It's just that LIfe, Leenock and Hyun are better than he is so he's not winning everything like he used to.) DRG is going to be tough. I've always thought Stephano has better late game "skills" (e.g., map awareness, multitasking and large army micro) than DRG, so if he keeps his focus and doesn't die to an early timing I like his chances in a macro game against DRG. My assessment of Stephano's current level -- he's been practicing consistently for a few weeks now IIRC and he has somewhere around a 55-60% ladder win rate (after his promotion to GM), which is very, very good (Leenock has a win rate in the mid 50s). From watching his stream his play seems crisp and he's not even using optimal builds in a lot of his games or apparently taking the games that seriously (which is fine since it's ladder). E.g., he's going all ling and roach ling against T (like the old days), presumably, to push those builds to their limits and perhaps to amuse himself. TLDR -- Stephano will advance IMO. GL!

The best thing after advancing would be a win over DRG. I hope he improved his ZvZ :-)

DRG has been playing amazingly (only lost 3 games until the finals against Life in Iron Squid and won IPL6 qualifier.) In my biased opinion, only worse than Life atm and I greatly disagree with you on stephano having better map awareness and multitasking than DRG but enough about DRG here. I hope to see a Stephano/DRG winner's match that would be sick. I hope they both can advance too ![]()

I think many people are underestimating Innovation - after all he reached the semi-finals last season (with wins vs Soulkey and Sniper and losses vs Leenock and Hyun). Stephano MUST NOT relax and be cocky, even if he is ahead in a game. I think that he's very oblivious of what he's trying to attemtp and more affected by stress than what we see from an oustider perspective.
