I don't agree that zvz is too dependent on chance. The top zergs in the world have very good win rates in zvz, all over 60% recently, and some over 70%, which suggests it's not random. If it were a true coinflip you would see win rates closer to 50%. ZvZ openings are well known as are the transitions. Most zvzs in tournaments are macro games, where each player is able to tech up to infestors. The game then becomes about larvae, economy and army management. The player who does all of those things better wins. There's lots of skill involved, which is why I'm confident Stephano will start playing better again now that he's practicing regularly (in Korea no less). Stephano's zvz when he was playing regularly on ladder before he broke out was very good - top 10 probably. He stopped practicing regularly and it's gotten worse and worse. Jaedong may be top 5 in zvz and is at least top 10 and Revival is probably top 20, so he definitely has the practice partners necessary to figure the match up out.
I think ZvZ just happens faster than all the other matchups, so it appears more random because the viewer is less able to tell exactly whats going on.
Also, Stephano has said many times that ZvZ is the least fun matchup and that in the past he has skipped out on practicing it.
That being said..... he's Stephano...... he's going to step up and win!

Why did they not use Stephano to take out Dear in the most recent Sc2 Proleague dual? I freakin stayed up till like 3am in hopes of watching Stephano pwn some newbs, all for nothing =(. Oh well, he has his GSL match on the 1st, that is something to look forward to.

Well guys, I want to tell you a bit more the why I composed this song for EG.Stephano, one of my idols of the SC2, which knew of WC3, of having seen him playing.
The history is the following one, I am an electronic music fan , though I work as musical producer of music pop and Fleming etc ,On the national level in Spain, for approximately 12 years, well the point is... last Friday I was immersed composing a melody with a "BreakStep" base and also i saw a party of "EG.Stephano" of the " WCS Europe " in which he was facing my spanish compatriot "Vortix" who I admire very much too , as to "Alastor", the point is that when "EG.Stephano" won, they called to interview him, to the television set , While he was walking and greeting, the tv studio set put a music, and then was when I saw it clear....The song that I am working on it is going to be called "Stephano", and it will be his war song when they call him to speak before the battles, (as the boxer guys that they have his personalized songs) and for celebrate the victories, though i know that is to dream very much, but I swear that one day I ll see that in any championship, they will call EG.Stephano to comment his game or to celebrate the victory and to sound of bottom " Akastro - Stephano "... Dudes ! I ll die on that moment because of the emotion I want to give you my most honest thanks to all, for all the messages of support, especially to "Anjellycar" for having included the song in the video of the official post.

I agree, although I think they're just letting him focus on GSL preparation for now. They did the same thing with JD (when up and downs were being played). I'm guessing we won't see him in proleague again until after his ro32 matches end.

Yes but JD had to play the same ( or next ) day vs Flash who all-killed them, so it made sense, but why couldn't Stephano play Dear ( P ) who was in the process of killing them ?
It wouldn't have hurt Stephano's stamina nor would he have revealed his TvZ builds ( which are seen by 10 k viewers everyday ;p ) so it doesnt make sense, and btw it's not to bash them or anything, but proleague is the real deal atm and puma is 0-5 and Zenio 2-4, EG-TL needs Hero, Revival / JYP, Stephano and JD at EVERY MATCH and they really shouldn't use JYP against zergs ( especially on bad maps as they recently did ) or Stephano like they did twice.
Maybe also some TLO / Snute could help here, I really don't understand why you would use your slumping koreans and not your hot foreigners. Do you think puma would win to snute ? Or Zenio would beat TLO ? I'm not quite sure, and even think they'd be great assets vs terran and zergs. Plus, the team wouldn't be EG + Hero and sick Taeja anymore : /
Sorry if I'm arsh to some players, or sorry because I'm a bit off-topic here even if it's slightly Stephano related, but you know when you stay up to see Stephano and them, you expect more than this, and the games from tonight were really painful.
