It is on purpose. he does it every single zvp. Roaches are so supply heavy that when your'e going to make a TONNE of them you need to make this many overlords. It's on purpose.

He could be the best fking sc2 player in the world if he practiced like a korean or at least better then practices know. He has the insane capability to switch his style on the fly to perfectly counter and break any opponent but we rarely see this and it shows how much the lack of practice takes its toll on his placements on tournaments like these.
Have to agree, that kid could be anything if the would start to take things seriously.

Well, Stephano always gets supply blocked anyways. I think one of the MLG casters jokingly commented that it was his way to know when to transition into the next phase. "Oh, 60 supply block, time to build roaches (after lots of overlords)" "Oh, 150 supply block, time to tech to hive"
He's just so good that it doesn't even matter most of the time.
About the loss against SaSe, Stephano got blindcountered by SaSe because Stephanos style is quite well known while SaSes playstyle isn't that well known. It was well played by SaSe but next time the Zerg Mastermind will have the correct response and will take it.

Yeah I agree. His play seems so rigid right now. For example at IPL 3 he switched it up in ZvT. He played both infestor style and muta style, and sometimes he did 7 roach timing. And in ZvZ he did aggressive timings sometimes and sometimes very economical play. Right now he does infestor ling in every fucking matchup, so predictable. He's really good at it (almost beat Sase's colossus + stalker ball with ling infestor, lol), but doing the same unit composition every game really doesn't work out.
I'm a huge fan of Stephano but every time I see him losing like this it hurts a little inside

Wow, he seriously lost to sase? He is the last person i thought could beat stephano...

SaSe was on a huge roll, 2:1 Polt, 2:0 Leenock, 2:1 Grubby, 2:1 Rain, 2:0 violet, 2:1 Sleep... not exactly the easiest opponents. It was just a very good day for SaSe and sadly Stephano happened to be in the way. Well, next time it'll be different.

Again, a good run by Stephano and again, a top 5th/6th at the end, the third tournamend in a row ( MLG arena, Redbull and MLG spring ) where he was able to win the whole thing and barely failed ( well of course there was still DRG at this one).
I need to see him win another big tournament, ESWC was a long time ago.
PS : But hey, he was not hungover this time at least.
PS 2 : He was not BM against MKP.. maybe against Sase, i don't really know but sure it was weird.

I doubt he's BMing. His sens of humor is weird, Inappropriate and misunderstood most of the time, that produce some akward situations. But it's not BM imho. He just doesn't know how to make good jokes in a chatroom...

Guys... You seem to forget (like everybody), that Stephano won against 5 Koreans in this MLG. He don't have to change his game. He loose against MKP (2-1, it's normal it's Marineking) and Sase (who beat Violet and Leenock). It's a good run, don't worry guys, Stephano provide miracles since one year and he will continu.
PS: for "btw i like ur pans", it's because Sase had a pans with french flag colors.

it's so funny that people come here after every tournament he did very good in and talk about how he needs to change his game :D

WP Stephano. Good run, first in group.

He should have taken 2nd map against SaSe anyway, 3 bases vs 2 and successful bust, no way he loses that unless he plays in "I don't give a damn about the result, I want to make the show" mode. Imho he was more or less trolling, and it turned back against him.

Great performance at MLG Anaheim Stephano! Much respect!

you are ofcourse completly right, but a part of cheering for Stephano is also accepting him as a person. He is special and we should enjoy him :-) I would also prefere if he won every game, but he provides better games than 99% of foreigners out there, win or lose.
Stephano fighting!
