ok, seeing all the shit people throw at Stephano for this ONOG stuff atm made me want to support him.
(I still think he made a slight schedule mistake but definitely not worth 100 pages of drama and a post "Community News" ><).

I know you're trolling, but just in case you're not: Stephano is 8-0 in map score vs Kas since September. No foreigner has a winning record vs him, he's easily the best player now

Actually, Sen and Sheth have a winning record vs him. And that's just from quickly browsing through his TLPD, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if the number was much higher.

u serious? the only games tlpd has about sheth and stephano is one single bo3 at dreamhack, yeah we all know that he played bad there, and against sen he actually is positiv when you don't count the bo3 loss back in 2010 where he was not even a pro...

So what you mean to say is that Stephano has a winning record against everyone? If we don't count the games that he lost that is? I guess it makes sense.

no, we wanted to say that he has a winning record against every other foreigner. If you exclude players he only played one or two best of threes against and just look on the last couple of months that's probably true.

Oh, so you agree that he doesn't in fact have a winning record against everyone. Why ask me if I were serious then?

he made a big mistake and he fucked up, I'm a stephano fan and I have no problem saying it. It's all the drama with all the hate and racist comment that makes me sick.

I never ever said that i include koreans in that, and i also think it's kind of unreasonable to bring up players like sheth that he had only played once, since this is not enough for a "record" ^^ but yeah, i guess you have a valid point too, still results show that he's the best foreigner, if only he would play a couple games against huk and idra in some big tourney so people finally get it -.-

I don't get why people make drama because a player forfeit a match.
(As I don't get the Naniwa 6 probe rush drama, or any of those)
People must love drama more than Sc2

Oh, I didn't mean Koreans. I meant foreigners. If you wish to discount Sheth, you will then find that Stephano has no record against most foreigners. It is rather misleading to say that nobody has a winning record against him. Nobody has a winning record against me either but what does that prove?

Do they now? Many people would disagree with you on that.

I don't care if you forfeited and most of all i don't get it why people are making such a drama from this. This is ridiculous, keep on owning man and shut their mouth by amazing play, that's the best way to go, ignore the trolls, especially the racist ones. And there are.

I love phenonemal talents who are irreverent to the likes of Teamliquid and r/starcraft.

The fact that Stephano doesn't take the ESPORTS community seriously makes me love him more.

You know you are the biggest star in the scene, when your choosing NOT to play is bigger news than who won.

The "Stephano Forfeits" post is now the most popular community news item of 2012 for TL, in under 8 hours.

Seems to me that the SC2 insiders don't appreciate that it all appears to come too easily to Stephano. Haters seems to always be mad at the fact that he doesn't "seem to care" enough, or pay enough respect to the esports trailblazers. Everyone tells the story about how he didn't know Grubby... how he doesn't care about who the top KR players are.. and even Mr. Bitter was quick to point out that Stephano didn't know him at HSC.

He cares enough to be the best in the world... how much do people want? Its lunacy. He knows the game! The rest is the social drama.... and apparently its not a pleasant scene.

Its like when the star QB is seen smiling on the sideline during a loss. its just mindles tabloid fodder. Sure it looks bad, but it doesn't mean you know how that QB felt.

Being a non-attention seeking kind of guy myself, I could see why someone wouldn't necessarily think being the top SC2 player is the greatest thing.

He can't even pay $1350 to go to sleep without being a top headline the next day. Considering the fan base is 100% male.... I'd get the hell out too :D Chicks love Doctors! Nurses are nice fans! You can be successful and not have to deal with the idiot everyman over every decision you make.

This type of microscope can't be fun, regardless of how apathetic someone would appear, or your stereotype of him would make you think. I do feel that culturally people mis-interpret French accents as being dis-interested.. and that's at play here.

He cares enough to be the best in the world! The rest is your interpretation. He might not know who Nada is, but he knows every zergling and how to get a perfect surround everytime. He knows exactly when and how to attack. He cares enough to know what matters, better than 99.99% of sc2 players.

If people care about the quality of play, you have to be a Stephano fan. The fact that its comes with community baggage is not helping esports!

An alternative theory: At least IMO, the latest Stephano related imbroglio illustrates that he actually cares about more than just money (contrary to his previous statements); unsurprisingly he also cares about playing his best and winning, Although Stephano didn't know that the ONOG was going to pay him as though he had finished in fourth place at the time he forfeited, he at least knew he had no chance of winning the top prize if he didn't play. He could have tried extremely cheesy plays designed to win or lose in the first 8 minutes of play (which likely would have resulted in his losing the series in an embarrassing way). If he didn't care at all about losses, he would have taken the chance since he could have executed the strategy in very little time and at least given himself a chance to win an additional $750 (assuming that's the difference between first and second prizes). His actions fit the profile of someone who actually does care about his results, separate from how much money he earns. (Or perhaps they show that he values a good night's rest at around $750)
To be is to be the value of a bound variable.

Wow, when did the witch hunt against Stephano start? To me this is pretty stupid, everyone can fuck up once in a while and it's not like he did a horrible thing, you don't just go to sleep over 1000$ without a reason, he must have been VERY sleep-deprived.

But that's great, you go ahead SC community, spit on the foreigner that gives you great games, give him a reason to quit the game come September! I hope the drama won't get to him or this community (or at least part of it) will have done a big mistake

Tasteless said to seriously stop with the drama, and here we are, still doing witch hunts over petty shit, I for one, am disappoint. Give the players more support instead of jumping on the hate bandwagon.

(This message is obviously not directed at the fanclub, but I wanted to post it here to show my support to Stephano and not have it buried in the torrent of hate of the other topic)
