Yea, must be really tired, and he probably have school tomorrow. Everyone has a limit, he is smart enough to know his limit is impressive.

He's currently playing SC professionally for a year after which he will apply to medical school. Also, it's almost 4:30 in France. Of course he was really tired about an hour ago.

Its only too bad that his amazing performance today is overshadowed by how it ended. He played some amazing games, where his macro and unit control were off the charts. Some of the games, I just couldn't believe that the units kept streaming in... and the way he was 2 steps ahead of Grubby's every move - it was a sight to see. The only game he lost today was a 2 proxy rax rush from Illusion.
Poor guy, probably logged off and passed out thinking he's got $750 coming his way, only he's going to wake up to find he gets $150 and a bunch of drama on his hands.
The drama is misguided IMO, a SC2 player has the right to withdraw at any time. Tyler did so in the same tourney after losing to Catz, and no one even heard a word about it.
His penalty is the $1500 he didn't win, that's all it should be.
He gave the community an amazing performance today, we shouldn't be mad that he didn't give more. His price for sleep was $750.... let the man sleep! (especially since it actually cost him $1350)

Totally agree. The anger towards Stephano is so misplaced. Tyler did the same thing and nothing was sayd.
Owell, nothing to lose sleep over im just glad Stephano is in monster shape atm. He make every other player he has faced today look like gold league players.
And he just keep on winning everything its so impressive. Sc 2 is so volatile but still he somehow manage to win one tournament after another.

I follow Stephano on twitter, watch him every morning before class, and support him on any event. But something that changed my perspective on this situation was the response from the President of ONOG. His response below. --- Hello, this is Deric, the President of One Nation of Gamers. While we were gearing up to begin the 3rd place match, Stephano stated that it was too late for him to play and that he was going to be going to sleep. He gave us the ultimatium that if he can't play another day he will forfeit the match and then logged off.
If One Nation of Gamers is going to work out and do our part to grow eSports, we have to be an organization that puts the fans first. Given that principle, I came to the decision to penalize Stephano and move him to 4th place, have Catz and Illusion play for 2nd/3rd, and have the victor play against Kas.
Everyone involved with One Nation of Gamers has worked incredibly hard -for months- to raise the $3,000 that we've put up for grabs. It's not a lot to everyone, but it's a lot to us and represents month of volunteer work. We decided to run this tournament to give back to eSports, we wanted to help the pros earn a little more and we wanted to provide some great content to the fans. We believe everyone deserves to see an appropriate final series for $1,500.
I realize this decision might be unpopular and I apologize profusely. Lastly, I would like to thank Kas, Catz and Illusion for agreeing to stay and finish these matches out for the fans. --- His response on reddit. Reddit thread
These guys have a passion for esports, and the fact that they raised all their efforts to have a successful event for all the viewers and barcrafts is amazing to me. There were 16,000 viewers when the Mr. Bitter said Stephano logged out and will forfeit. For the finals there was 6000 viewers. It just made me feel bad for the President and all involved. I'm not saying Stephano was right or wrong to forfeit it was just an interesting perspective for behind the scenes esports.

I totally agree the tournament lost out and I don't fault them at all, but my point is I don't think Stephano just flaked on them, he must have had a good reason for giving away his shot at $1500. Stephano could have pretended to disconnect or something like that, but at least he was direct and honest about his not being able to go on from that point.
The only defense for Stephano's actions are based on how he was feeling, and only he can know that. He couldn't continue, and he didn't get paid.
Would it really have been much better if Stephano had never entered the tournament? I don't think so....they would have just had 6k viewer the entire time then, instead of at least having Stephano for some of the time.

If a player cant play any longer then they will forfeit thats how it is.

Reddit threadThese guys have a passion for esports, and the fact that they raised all their efforts to have a successful event for all the viewers and barcrafts is amazing to me.
Why would you blame anyone for being tired @ 3AM? Because those guys worked to fund this and make it real Stephano HAD TO play until he fell asleep on his keyboard?
Oh and btw this is the fan club section, you should speak about this somewhere else.

Seems stupid for organization not to consider time difference between EU and NA....or maybe they dont care about players...Yes Kas stayed till 5 am, but Kas is called Machine for a reason, he is known for playing a lot of games (hence he has 2 accs in GM EU) , but not all players like that, same for Sase, he had to play his match at 8 am I think? Cross server? too bad they just had money and didnt even think about players...

(especially since it actually cost him $1350)
I follow Stephano on twitter, watch him every morning before class, and support him on any event. From being at wrestling tournies for 8+ hours and more waiting tons of forfeits happen. Sorry if you misinterpreted my post I was just discussing a topic. I was agreeing with the guy I quoted that the drama was misguided.

In my opinion every party did the right thing, stephano forfeited cause he just couldn't play anymore and onog didn't give him 2nd place money because he didn't do the 2nd place player's schedule ->both decisions are reasonable the only bad thing people should say now is "i am sad, wanted to see a kas vs stephano finals" but there's no reason at all to shit on one of the involved parties.
