However I feel Tyler is worthy of having me as a fan. He has intelligence that is to be admired and to expect out of people (as shown on SotG, in a relaxed atmosphere, it would be fun to see/have a formal debate with the guy). I hope you put in the effort to be in the top of this game. Why wouldn't you be a fan of a "Pro Gamer" ?

It's just my point of view. I find it a little weird for me as a man to admire another man for playing a game really well. Sure I can respect the person for they're incredible skill, but if I'm going to be a fan I feel like it should be for more of a reason than that.

I like to think of myself as less sheepish than someone who just signs up to fan clubs because they think the person is 'a good gamer'. Overall I think Tyler has a mindset which distinguishes him from other Western pro gamers that I know of (which might overall be more similar to Korean BW pro gamers, but I'm not really sure). I also enjoy his perspective on SotG and other venues. I think if Tyler puts in a lot of practice and 'has the drive', which he mentioned in the SotG yesterday, he has incredibly good potential in terms of cracking skulls and murdering nerds. That was something I got from the "Elephant in the Room" post, namely that 'the drive' to be inhumanly good, with a level of skill and execution unimaginable for ordinary players, seems to be somewhat lacking in the SC2 pro scene. I think most SC2 pro gamers want that, but it doesn't seem to me like they 'live for it', which was the case in the BW scene. At least as a spectator, that's something I'd love to see return. There's an air of "everyone has perfect mechanics, now it's only about the meta-game changing, and who can counter who", which just doesn't seem to be the case at all, if you look at most pro gamers lacking macro, the 1a syndrome, etc. I might be talking out of my ass here, since I obviously ain't a SC2 pro gamer.

He was so close! Such a tiny mistake in his game analysis leading to a bad attack. I'm really happy to see this video though, it's great to have this firsthand look at Tyler's amazing run through Courage.
