If you feel that something a foreign pro do is stupid/you don't understand it, you should not think that you know what they are doing wrong, unless you are yourself a foreign pro. If you feel the same about a korean, well there aren't any korean pro on TL, so... What I mean is that little things matter at sc2, and most of the things pros do you won't understand the in an outs even if you are GM, high master, goldie or whatever. About the possibility of him winning a championship, well this season Leenock, Bomber and fOrGG were eliminated, nobody can predict if any player will win at least one championship this year, the likes of Mvp, MC, NesTea and MMA could very well not even win a single GSL with the talent here in 2012 code S
Well I agree, that pro's may have an edge in insight about even the most understanding casuals. BUT after violet counterattacked the shit out of him @ HSC, to let Losira do the same to him again in several games in a row and not reaction a bit like default raising his depots at his wallin when he moves out, or building 1-2 Bunkers just for the case. I mean that's just stupid. It's not that this is about a complex situation of the game. It's indeed very simple. He moves out, Zerg scouts it, Zerg counterattacks. That's it, nothing more about it. Basically there are two solutions to this problem: A) he doesn't move out which kinda doesn't make sense or B) he moves out but prepares for an incoming counterattack. Well he moves out without preparing and sacrificing a lot of SCVs each time it happens. To think that there is a complex genius plan behind it.... what kind of plan is it to sacrifice a third of your workers at least? Not a very good one from my point of view. So this kind of defence makes absolutely no sense here, sorry!
I didn't see the games but there has to be a reason for everything he does, so maybe it's for forcing the zerg to sacrifice his units? or maybe he just wants to force himself to multitask harder and harder at risk of losing some games (practice in real situation with important games is good :o). And since he won how is that wrong? o;o
After seeing HSCIV I must say I do agree with TeeTS in many points. Ive seen countles brainless moveouts by him, trying to micro as good as possible. On the other hand he 2-0ed MC (I believe) and made impossible comebacks...
I would not count him out of any tournament, he just needs to unite his micro with Goodys descisionmaking.

I wouldn't judge his play style or anything by a 100$ praise tourny, if thats the case MVP is not as good as he is. But I agree with parts of what you said, and I posted about that months ago and I still believe it, MK should change a team I think the main reason for his poor judgements is bad coaching, I don't even want to start with the really poor TvT he was playing while everyone was owning his ass with mech play.
EDIT: Same as todays games :| except game 5 vs Monster

Maybe you are right to some extent. Hoever there is some hope: if he could play like what he did today in game 5 vs Monster, safe and patient and alert, there is a good chance that his championship dream can become true.
I have to agree with TeeTs. I am a huge MarineKing fan, but watching his games vs Violet at HSC was heartbreaking.
He lost to zergling run-bys every game, in the same situation (violet just scouted he was moving out to attack and had a group of zerglings waiting somewhere on the map). I would have thought Marineking would have learned to lift up his supply depots when moving out to prevent the run-bys, but he never did and lost each game to them.
Additionally he made some very questionable attacks when he was behind, which caused him to fall behind even further. I understand he wants to play aggressively, but sometimes you have to sit back.
Overall, his decision making needs some working on, shame to see a player that is very capable of winning GSLs in the near future to lose because of his poor decisions.
I hope MKP's new TvZ style of not walling in vs Zerg and just playing overall very risky is him just testing himself rather than it being a proper strategy.
I agree with others. As MKP's number 1 fan, I just want him to improve and be the best. However, he still has flaws as mentioned here that he has yet to correct.
Not walling in against zerg and not making bunkers is silly. He lost to leenock on dual site in aol because of it and again to violet in home story cup on dual sight as well. I really don't know his rationale for doing that as I can't see any advantage to it and it costs him so many games.
Also, he still has limited scouting, even though people in the past have said in interviews after they beat him in GSL that they proxy him or take ninja expos on him because of his limited scouting. This also cost him in game 5 against violet, when he blind dropped 5 medivacs at violet's third and got hit by fungals, essentially losing him the game and series.
I'll always cheer for him to win 1st, but until he fixes these flaws, he'll never be consistent and on mvp's or mma's level. On any given day mkp can beat anyone (except for mvp of course ), but at the same time he could also lose to anyone, such as delphi or violet. There's really no way mkp should lose to those players, except if he beats himself, which he did in those series.
