Did he look any better than he did vs Genius?

Honestly speaking, I know that Mc' pvp has weakness. I just believe in a fanclub ppl should encourage him instead of trying to post record to say he is worse than elfi or sth to discourage Mc. If you watch those games, you can see Elfi played better and deserved to win despite some mistakes. At the same time, we also can see Mc's abilities of learning his opponent and apapt to it. He played a lot more agressive and effective in 2nd and 3rd games. And he definitely has more potential to improve in this mu than elfi does. Before Blizz cup, ppl even believed that Leenock would crush Mc. But now, Mc looks very strong with his pvz and surely has a chance to take down any top zerg. This is Mc and fanclub is a place he will see a lot of words from many fans to encourage and support him.
If they meet again in the final, Mc will manage to win.

They did play in MLG providence... you can check it out on mlg.tv. But MC has not yet recover from his PvZ slump then and DRG just outplayed him. They did met once in the KSL, MC maxed out on 2 bases and just straight-out killed DRG lol.

well i love to see mc winning. nobody else's play looks as monstrous and frightening as mc's when he makes some ridiculously agressive build work. he's also super funny and i cheer for him.
however i consider myself a rational person and the possibility was certainly there that he could lose to elfi. recognizing this doesn't discredit anyone's feelings of a player. mc is leagues above every foreigner player in pvz and pvt, but pvp is his weakness and it also happens to be elfi's strongest point. it's hard to decide which is more heartwarming to watch, a beloved korean monster to crush foreigners or an awesome foreigner beating a korean monster. to me every outcome would have been pleasant, and the fact that both of them advanced was the best possible outcome.

Anyways it is all good. Without Mc's advance, we surely will have to accept another non toss win tournament. With Mc, there is hope for toss.

Yay!!! MC advances!! I hope we're gonna see a protoss victory here!! MMA's cursed, don't worry ^^

|
Brackets here.
MC's got a pretty good road to the finals. A PvZ against either Violet or Darkforce, and then a PvP against either Feast, Killer or Hasu.
I can see him meeting MMA in the finals. Epic!
|
Yeah. Would be nice to avoid PvP entirely, but that is too much to ask for. Pretty nice set up. Getting first in your group has perks .
|
Gaaah MC can't avoid a PvP if his life depended on it... but I have confidence with nonetheless. If he can get pass it and play the final against MMA (I'm guessing) IMO MC's PvT is a million times better than MMA's TvP he's my bet to win.

MC needs to analyze his weaknesses in his PvP if he wants to reach the finals.

I don't get it. He got first in a group full of Protoss, losing only to elfi and Whitera, both 1-2.
His PvP is definitely his weakest matchup, but he doesn't have time to analyze his weaknesses before his next PvP in this tournament. We'll just have to hope he's having a good day and his style is good against Feast/SangHo/HasuObs'.
Personally, I hope he goes up against either Hasu or Killer. He's already 2-0ed HasuObs, and Killer is one of the more mediocre Koreans, with PvP being his notoriously weakest matchup.

Well I should've said he should go over his replays and talk with other good PvP'ers about how he could improve. As I had noted some time ago, MC almost always loses in tourneys through PvP, even if his other two match-ups were beastly. I wouldn't be too surprised if he loses in the semifinals (assuming he gets there) in IEM.

He is a bit too extreme but he has a point that MC is weak in PvP and if he wants to reliably make it to the finals he will need to step his game up a little.
