On another note, I think is hands down the best caster in the world. There is no one even close to how good he is, he's the only caster with the insight to say things like "well he's opening late gas so you know aggression... which is good against his opening". I hate how casters just say nothing, when they could be commenting about openings, drone pairings, etc. He's, as far as I know, the only analytical caster out there.
I'm just in Diamond and I feel like I could cast better than anyone (besides idra) because none of them realyl go into the game. Artosis talks a bit, but he seems to not understand anything that isn't mainstream play.
um... dont know u or anything dude but you do not understand more than artosis...

Put up or shut up. If you're that good, you can make a living off of it - so why aren't you?
I'll tell you why idra isn't a good caster. He has no emotion in his voice. I like listening to idra too, but for the sake of eSports becoming bigger casting has to bridge the gap between non-gamers and the game. I can watch a Football game and enjoy it, even though I've only played American football like 10 times in my life.
Listen to Korean commentators, or watch some subbed games. They're much more into the emotion and momentum of the game than dissection.

I love IdrA, but yeah, he shouldn't be a caster. I enjoy his casts, but for MLG and shit, I like the enthusiasm. Although, from what I hear, Korean casters are actually really smart since they're ex-progamers.
|
IdrA is a100x better than artosis casting. Artosis talks about irrelevancies, like his being sick all the time, his vegetarian habits, his ferrets, whatever.. IdrA knows games inside and out and calls stuff before they happen.

So, you are better than Day9 who has more in depth knowledge than anyone I know of?
Edit: I guess I should also add Incontrol (NASL), Gretorp (NASL) and Painuser (IPL) who are all professional players and also cast.

When it comes to casters it is just personal preference. I prefer Idra, because of his insanely analytical side, though it can get a bit dull if you don't add in another caster. I really liked Incontrol and Idra as a casting duo.
|
Idra is my favorite analytical caster. Even getting someone like idra in as a third commentator for between game analysis would be great like they do in other sports.

Well personally I like that type of casting too, but thats because I love IdrA's dry sense of humor and wry condescension that he builds into his casting. People love tastosis for their synergy and their abillity to entertain as well as analyze. IdrA is 100% analysis, TB is 100% shoutcast, and most casters fall somewhere along that continuum

Look at MC. He went to Dreamhack, HSC 3, MLG all within a short amount of time, and he suddenly became mortal. Later in an interview, he said he needs to stop going to those tournaments for now to catch up on practice and focus on the GSL.
Also, I had a dream about IdrA last night. He was at the tournament and I got front row seats. And he waved to me when he was on stage and it fucking blew my mind.
MC became mortal because of the tournament formats. For GSL he gets time to practice against one player for more than 7 days or so. Also consider the format in GSL where you can "dodge" many of the top players (you choose your groups and so on before each season). Remember, he got knocked out in Ro32 by Polt - then started going to all these other tournaments because now he had time to... If you've watched all seasons of GSL you know MC was Ok player, got good, then back to Ok. He was never immortal. He lost to hongun in the gsl...

ROFL. Guy, those aren't the best examples there.
