"Who is eligible? Anyone with a North American SC2 account"
Meaning yes, he can. Nowhere on their website does it say anything about not being able to.
It's also a shame idra loses to 2 koreans the Sen, and can't make it.
Yet players like Sheth, SjoW, Strelock, Ret, SeleCT, etc are all people IdrA beat regularly but they get in =/

but yeah, he often lands in the group of death and NASL Group 5 was no different
|
Simple fix -> make the NASL a 32 player double elimination tourney, instead of 16 players.
Top 4 from each group instead of top 2. Better for players and for fans.
Also, I wonder how this all would have turned out if dde didn't derp his marine/bunker push against Zenio yesterday. He was || close to killing the hatchery, and having his wall finished would have put him in a massive lead. Idra probably would have beat dde

Never saw this, thanks a lot!

hmmm
why can't idra beat zenio? it bet the koreans must have prepared against his strategy
|
SirScoots would be an awesome dad

Zenio has never lost a ZvZ series except against NesTea, he is really good at that matchup with a 70+% win rate. His other matchups are weak though.
vT: 13-21 (38.24%) vZ: 15-6 (71.43%) vP: 8-12 (40.00%)

idra should just copy zenio lol
get down and dirty wrestling with the pigs :D
oh and btw, i think the no GG was kinda cool for a while, but it's getting old
i mean he can continue the no GG trend but with some cool additions like "i love <insert something he has that can make people envy>" or like "it's okay <i feel pity for you so here's a game>"

Also, what exactly does the top box mean by "This is not the "discuss Idra" thread." The rest of it is clearly worded but that part .. it confuses me a little. It means that the mods are sick and tired.

People don't give IdrA credit for his consistency. Because he doesn't take risks, he managed to qualify for every single GSL Open (when was considered very rigorous qualifiers), got out of his Code S groups when he was in Code S, managed to place in every single MLG, and does very well in DH and other tournaments. Very few players can stay that consistent.
I really hope IdrA will keep playing his same standard style, but refines his timings to be able to scout the coin flips and stuff effectively, which will simply take time. Since IdrA's style heavily benefits from practice, it will take a lot of time for him to become an undisputed beast. And unfortunately, IdrA has been in a less than optimal practice situation since SC2 release. Korean ladder could only get him so far...and NA Ladder...lol. I hope they will be "bootcamping" it in the new EG house because that is what IdrA's style benefits most from. I'd really hope the rest of EG could start showing results too. This man speaks wisely. Idra's style pretty much requires perfect condition and very deep research into game situations that can only be acquired through mass practice against THE top notch opponents. It'll be a long time until SC2 is figured enough for someone with Idra's style to become flexible(read: Flash). Except Flash is nothing like Idra. Flash is constantly coming up with new, unpredictable builds, and he plays mind games extremely well (see his most recent series against Zero). Idra needs to learn to master other styles as well if he really wants to become the best player in the world. Hear hear. The scene desperately needs some high quality mind games. Not wrestling-like ceremonies, pausing the game to play change one's music or simply calling everyone bad at the game.

1. He does copy Zenio. He also copied nesteas spine push, and Losiras roach timings.
Part of being a progamer is to copy the flavor of the month and making it better. No progamer makes all the best strategies themselves, whoever copies and perfects the best things win.
2. He does GG, even to zenio who he dislikes. He did the last time they played. He didn't this time because of the circumstances of the game (a blind 9pool on a 4 player map), not because he doesn't want to gg to koreans.
IdrA saw zenio hold a ton of roachs with just 8-10 infestors and spines while he got his own roaches. IdrA learned and improved from that game. Thus he considered it a GOOD GAME, that's what gg means, which most people seem to have forgotten. IdrA learned nothing from their second series. What was he supposed to take from it? Don't 15 hatch on terminus because there isa 33% chance you can be countered by an early pool? That would be retarded.

Thank you for the answer Whole. I'm not a devote.. you know, I'm barely even a fan of IdrA. I think he's highly entertaining and that counts when there are so many pro's to watch.
But the level of creepiness and annoying douchebaggery you highlighted makes me want to have nothing to do with starcraft, so yeah. GOOD RULE.
When is IdrA's next tournament match? I can't wait to see it. Despite saying earlier than I'm not much of a fan, as a zerg player I do greatly enjoy watching him for his extraordinarily good mechanical and macro abilities.

My thoughts exactly. He seems like an awesome guy.
Hopefully IdrA does well at Dreamhack. Judging by the players in his group he should at least be able to get out of group play.

thank you :D and keep em coming!

Hi, I'm a long time fan of IdrA and really don't post that much. But I got to ask if his J.tv account got hacked. It is now named "Herp derp sherp" and the channel description is kind of insulting... http://www.justin.tv/eg_idra/videos

I would imagine so. It very much seems like a "pot, meet kettle" kind of thing, where the guy that's hacking is too stupid to realize that he's actually more of a dick than IdrA for doing this. T_T
Or it's machine playing a prank or something.

Well, it is back to normal now, I hope hackers don't keep IdrA from streaming!
