I like Idra. But ever since he left EG he just seems to of gotten more and more negative.
If he wants to play other games and quit SC cool. But watching him play or talk about SC isn't really fun for me anymore. You can't even begin to compare Destiny's massive temper tantrum (that ended up sparking one of the most irritating phases on TL) to Idra occasionally playing UMS and other games on stream. Massive temper tantrum? When Destiny and Idra had a row about Destiny calling out blizzard for failing @ sc2? This is the idra fanclub, you don't talk shit about people you don't like here.
Yeah, and Idra now thinks Destiny was "smart and got out [of SC2] early."

Lol wow did he actually say that?

Watched IdrA play some UMS today; when I first tuned into the stream, I thought he was Skyping with someone. Turns out, no; his voice has just changed. That sort of pinched, impatient tone was missing; he actually sounded happy and relaxed.
Really seems like getting out of the hardcore competitive scene has done wonders for his mental health. 'Snice to see.

Apparently Idra and Demuslim are okay with each other again? This reality show is hard to keep up with :p.

No, the massive temper tantrum where Destiny posted a huge rant and several tweets about how SC2 was dying and how Blizzard fucked everything up, and in large part sparked a period in TL where anything and everything was about how SC2 was dead. I'm rather ambivalent about Destiny. I'd probably still check out his stream if he played games other than LoL. I just despise the Chicken-Little bandwagon that he spawned.
Agreed 100%. And it's funny, I feel the same way about IdrA. He was always complaining about sc2 sucking and honestly I just think he was venting frustration, even if he liked BW more. And I understand really. When he was one of the best players in the world Zerg was almost impossible to win with (blah blah fruitdealer). And when Zerg rose to power IdrA went on a huge slump (lost his drive/self confidence?) and other players caught up and surpassed him. But when a huge personality like IdrA says this people are going to start believing the game is horribad. Or dead like in case Destiny. Game is still not dead btw.

It'll take a very long time before the game dies. A very, very long time.
Pretty sure people still play Brood War, that game isn't dead yet.
So SC2? It won't die for a very long time. The professional scene might die (that would also take a LOT of time) but the game itself probably won't.

Well it all depends how you define "dead." Many would consider BW dead, any game where you cannot make a living off playing it full time (in my opinion at least) is dead.

...
A dead game is a game that literally no one plays. There are arguably no dead games. I guess if we're talking about multiplayer then the definition changes a bit.
I'll give an example. For the longest time I considered age of empires 3 to be a dead game. Yet even today, still today, in fall 2013, there are still 1000 people online playing or chatting. There's about 20 people who, each night, will log on, set up OBS games and there will be 2 playing while the rest watch.
How is that dead? People log on, play the game, chat. there's no laddering and there's no competition really, but people are still playing the game for fun. aoe3 is nothing compared to what it once was, but it's not dead yet. aoe2 is even more alive than that, with active laddering and so on. I imagine that brood war is the same thing.
i guess we're just changing our definitions of what a dead game is, but i don't really care for esports or making money (as far as i'm concerned, sc2 has too many design flaws to be a good game compared to other RTS like bw or age of empires). as long as people play it, the game is alive. the pro scene might be dead, but not the game itself

Hey guys. What is the typing game called that IdrA played during his subscriber day on starcraft 2? Looked pretty awesome but cannot find it T_T

when Destiny saids the game is dieing he means the pro scene is dying a game will never truly die someone will still paly it

I can't remember the name, but I used to play it a decent amount and I know that at that time at least it was a a standalone game.

The specific minigame is called "Tassadar Teaches Typing" I believe.

Guys, what keyboard and mouse IdrA is using atm? I genuinly hope that he won't quit SC2. For me - SC would die without him.
