Really what lost IdrA that game is losing 9 drones to Polt's initial 2 hellions, which I'd ascribe to the map more than anything (though IdrA did pick Dual Sight, which was probably a bad choice).

He and like every other Korean do that build all the time, it's one of the most common followups to reactor hellion and something IdrA's definitely seen tons of times. The only real wrinkle is that Polt favored 2-4 more hellions than is normal in exchange for a delayed 2nd gas and +1. I think in the end making it to the championship bracket is an accomplishment even if I'd much rather see IdrA back contesting for championships. Hopefully he's on his way.

The Open Bracket is pretty treacherous and IdrA beat a Protoss who managed to take Stephano out while still proving that his macro style ZvT is quite strong. He got further than Sheth, Stephano, Catz, Minigun, Symbol, Jinro, Sleep, Inori, Morrow and TLO and most of the people who finished ahead of him had the privilege of starting in the groups. Takes two spines minimum, and even then it's damn hard (which is why IdrA lost 9 drones to 2 hellions). He went mass-queen which held off the rest of the hellions, but you can't really get 3-4 queens out in time to hold off the first 2 without cutting some serious drones.

Just stop playing/watching sc2 please. You must have misread my post, I clearly stated that in the second game he played abusive (which isn't all-in) and that Idra played poorly.

They both BMed toward eachother. I remember Polt calling IdrA something like "EZ" when he beat IdrA on the Korean ladder (more than once I think). The strange thing I is, most of the time IdrA plays Polt on the ladder, Polt went with some weird timing pushes or mass marines etc. Before the MLG match I thought IdrA already had to think about that, but he cut corners anyway. Oh well, too bad I guess ![]()

I'd be pretty interested to see how those games worked out. The replays will either be released publicly or provided to casters, so you'll definitely get to see IdrA play Inori ![]()

Players finishing 1st-8th in the Winter Championship will be invited to participate in Spring Arena #1. 2. Players finishing 9th-80th in the Winter Championship will be invited to participate in the Spring Invite-Only Online Qualifier of their choice. 3. Winter Arena Players who fail to participate in the Winter Championship will be invited to participate in the Spring Invite-Only Online Qualifier of their choice. So IdrA clearly falls under #2, that's the next step. Now, there are two arenas for Spring, before the next championship (June 8-10) and I don't think it's been announced how you get seeded into pool play for that. Performing well in the Invite-only qualifier (top 8? top 16?) will probably get you into the Spring Arena #1. A good performance there would then either seed you into Arena #2 or into pool play. We'll have to wait to know the exact details though ![]() MLG just announced the details: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=323816 Basically IdrA will need top 8 in the NA invite-only qualifier (April 27-30). That would get him an invite to MLG Spring Arena #2. A top ~12 there would put him into pool-play, otherwise he would start in Open Winners round 5, just like at the Winter event. If he doesn't qualify for the Spring Arena #2 by getting a good result in the invite-only qualifier, he would start from Open Winners round 1.

Oh well, too bad I guess ![]() Polt repeatedly destroyed Idra in macro games and Idra called him awful and disrespected him on more occasions. to the people calling Polt cheesy and abusive- he has some of the best timings and micro in the whole scene, and Idra's early game is not really solid. Polt also enjoys trolling him with rushes and all-ins just like MC, cuz they're not really fans of idra's attitude. playing the game is not about playing in your opponents strenghts. calling players like MC and Polt abusive is a compliment if they keep beating him...
