How is lag not an excuse playing cross-server? EVERYBODY complains about cross-server lag. =/ Also, please please PLEASE show a Zerg come back from a much worse situation. Pretty please! While it's not a 'much worse situation,' the game between Ret and State Artosis just did was one I could definitely have seen Idra GGing out of. If you didn't see it, Ret had the entire top half of Antiga while State was down to long-range mining from the third to the gold. Ret threw away an overwhelming advantage and State's sentry/stalker/immortal/collosus ball rolled through his third, natural, main and gold and did a lot of damage to one of his remaining bases. Ret was able to rally together enough roaches to snipe the sentries, Immortals and Collosi, and held against a sentry/stalker/probe all-in. ZvZ =/= ZvP

First I head of Sheth was Idra calling him good on either SotG or ITG. So technically Idra was right and I'll take that as a small victory. Small victories like this one keep me sane whilst reading this thread.

Totally aware. I'm not saying Idra left early. He was dead.
On the other hand, I don't think Idra would have stayed in a game like the State/Ret one.

protoss late game armies are really powerful and can do alot of damage
now if state had been on 2 base VS rets 3 and ret had jsut barrelled down the front of states FFE with roachs and was about to start eating the mineral line, THEN it would be a similar situation

In this exact game v Sheth, yes, Idra was in a worse position, because he was dead. On the other hand I don't think anyone can deny that Idra often leaves games that he shouldn't.
Edit: From the perspective of State, he was also dead. Only a mistake by Ret let him come back, and he almost won.

1700 pages of that actually, but thanks for reminding everyone.

The notion that Idra leaves games early stays alive through the discussion coming up after EVERY single loss. The guy cant lose a game without someone saying he left early.

I would not be surprised if he is revamping his play style, which would explain the current "don't really care" attitude. Barring depression, he doesn't strike me as the type of person who would just permanently roll over and give up.

Vash directly asked for an example of a Zerg coming back from a bad position. Artosis had literally just finished going over a replay where Ret had just lost four bases and had a ball of stalkers and collosus in one of his only two remaining bases, yet won. That's the connection I'm making. I've said multiple times that I don't think he left early in the game against Sheth. Other posters are putting words in my mouth.

I really hope that's true. Hopefully he's saving the new, good stuff for MLG Winter Arena.

My comment was more directed at the 'On the other hand I don't think anyone can deny that Idra often leaves games that he shouldn't.' I would say its actually not all that often he leaves games that he shouldn't. It just seems like that because its such a strong discussion point after every loss. Just going by his Lan performances this year which were the Code S and A games. I didn't give a second thought to any of his GG timings.

Personally, I find that every time IdrA says GG and leaves it actually was GG. As Mycl said, he has impeccable GG timings.

Well, it's hard to be 'much worse' than "dead unless he massively effs up." That situation doesn't exist unless the player in question is Fantasy.

i'm missing idras stream, he spoiled us too much in the last weeks

ZvZ is very volatile and playing ZvZ in latency is probably unplayable. Please do not hate on Idra for this, thank you.
Edit: Not taking anything away from Sheth's win, I'm just saying that there's probably a reason Idra didn't stay in the game at a disadvantage.
