Would've been phenomenal games. His ZvZ with NesTea would've been great too if he didn't choose to all in. We all know he can take it to the Detective in macro games, so make no mistake assuming he was scared!
Yeah its a shame that Nestea didn't go hatch first on that first map. But that's Nestea countering the mind game of IdrA's mind game. ZvZ can suck like that sometimes. Even then, I thought IdrA got his banes nest too slow in game 2, but to his credit, maybe he was expecting Nestea to Macro after that instead of trying to finish.
Game 3 against lucky was the typical greedy play + risky play -> lose.
IdrA's poor scouting in game 3 is what lost him the game. He did a great job up until 2 minutes before the attack but the Roach pump happens so fast that he should have been more active. Too bad he lost those scouting lings.

So to distract you from these dark cloudy thoughts: I recently bumped into the bw ai "scene" and watching the Berkeley Overmind finally explained IdrA's mechanics, especially his ZvT: youtube

In that case I'm not really sure why he'd ask for votes then :|

IdrA really showed some crap games in his code S showing; hopefully better in code A... regardless of competition

I don't think the games were crap at all. Why would you say that? :S

What was the song on his stream http://www.twitch.tv/eg_idra/b/304599575 after DEvil's Den by Skrillex? It's the third song, i believe. :S Sorry about these out there posts, but i enjoy his taste in music.

Because they were short and coinflippy. IdrA didn't really have a chance to prove himself against Nestea and we all know how silly that third game against Lucky was. Sometimes I really know what he's saying when he says he lost because his opponent was stupid. That was a stupid move from Lucky that won hin the game because who would expect something that stupid.

A +1 attack Roach Timing is really common in ZvZ. It's a staple of the matchup, people have been doing it for 6 months. Lucky's a really good player, he saw a timing and went for it and it paid off.

Lucky's a really good player, he saw a timing and went for it and it paid off. the +1 attack was in G2. I think he went double gas at the expo, which prompted Idras attack. I dunno if Lucky just mindgamed Idra into doing the attack with a fake double gas, or if he was just luckily bad
BTW: In g3 where he did the attack 10 seconds before Idra's hydras pops, I don't think he had any scouting information to trigger that attack. It wasn't that long before the +2 upgrades were done, and when the battle was done, they were juuuust finishing up. So yeah, unless he had very accurate info on Idra, that was a horrible decision that ended up winning the game for him

Nice pictures of Idra.
Surprised that Tastosis are beginning to dress up that smart.

The 'the opponent was stupid' argument only applies to game 3 (and I don't really agree with it in any case), when Lucky hit that roach timing, just before Idra's hydras came out. If Lucky'd waited for another fifteen or twenty seconds then his +2/+1 would have finished as he attacked, instead of after Idra gg'd.

Might have been a metagame trick, or Lucky saw something we didn't in IdrA's play that made him think he could/should do it right now. Please do not call Lucky stupid, he does not deserve that, really.

sorry,what?

But as I said, he might've had accurate info, and actually planned to hit that timing. If he did, that was awesome

His timing was that he broke down the rocks to Idra's third base and decided to attack up a ramp before his double upgrades were finishing. There was no evidence of him scouting Idra's army or anything to tell him that if he attacked then he would win. He got, pun intended, lucky.

no, there is no other resolution to that image. IMO, just paste it over another background because it is an empty wallpaper imo (but maybe you like that?)....or do like me and print it then tape it to the wall right above your computer lol

He played 2 sets of ZvZ..... that happens. I really wish he had a shot at MVP because there was a decent chance that he could have won, or at least proven that he is a player of that caliber. ZvZ is just stupid sometimes. Yes, he lost, but he match-up is so much more fragile than the other 2, and it is much easier to lose in a bad looking fashion.
