White-Ra is totally awesome.

I think it's just people beeing impressed by:

- He plays random
- He makes new, unorthodox strategys work against top players
- He wasn't well known until now

It's really quite weird to see some of these reactions from the other "top" players.

top player? its just incontrol xD

I was rooting for White-Ra to win after TLO beat Nazgul, but I still think it is fairly obvious why TLO is stealing the spotlight. His games were creative and really fun to watch. He did stuff we hadn't seen before and a lot of the time it worked. White-Ra played excellently and I think deserved to win, but TLO definitely stole the show and deserves an honorable mention for his really interesting strategies. He is somewhat of a new face with SC2 (I have only seen a few of his games before this, apparently most haven't seen him at all) and most probably expected him to be eliminated early, but he proved how good he is with random. He deserves all the attention.

No. Just no. The fact that you even posted this shows how little you know about the game; the ONLY reason he was able to make half of these unorthodox strategies work is BECAUSE he went random. If he had chosen a race, his opponents would have been much more prepared and he wouldn't have been able to cheese every game. The game is new, people are still figuring it out, and he took advantage of that fact by going random and forcing the opponent to deal with yet ANOTHER unknown factor, and that is why he was able to get away with so much silliness.

Lol read the rest of my post please. Stop acting like random is a disadvantage or somehow makes it more difficult. The advantage of keeping your opponent in the dark about your race is ungodly.

Um, those names are drawn from the top tier of SC2 players right now. It's an understatement to say that it's 'pretty damn hard' to beat them.

Except he didn't cheese more than any other player in the tournament.

That's why we see so many people playing random right?

His random status helped him out for sure. But he is still a very skilled player. He would not have been able to execute some of those strategies if he wasn't skilled. I would like to see how creative he gets if he does choose a race though.

Are you saying beating those 3 sc2b power houses isnt hard? I think youre thinking that random is some HUGE advantage that allows you to beat top players with ease.

I guess that's why every top player plays random and he wasn't only one doing it... oh wait.
