They looked completely out of their element. When I see + Show Spoiler + I don't think of a Korean girl group, but maybe that was the point. In any case, I do feel bad for them.

Which i was not a fan of that idea, as Chris brown sucks musically. Though all american pop stars are quite terrible. Lastly wtf did they do to the song. The song as released was fast, pump-in and catchy, who ever mixed it took everything out of it that made it good in the first place.

I really like this song, not big on the other ones. I regret clicking on that T-ara vid, so awkward for everyone involved.

This effect is furthermore amplified by that fact that while the image of an artist is very important in both music scenes, the images that is desirable in order to marketing an artist is vastly different in Korea compared to the west. If you compare a group such as SNSD to Rihanna, which in terms to target audience probably is not all that different, most SNSD members are almost squeaky clean, where as Rihanna will post Instagram pictures of her smoking a blunt every other day. Secondly i think that the Western music scene is very autonomous compared to the Korean scene, in that sense that there is very few institutions that the scene is built around. The Western scene has no counterpart to music shows such as M! countdown, Music Bank and Inkigayo. Also it appears that the way artists are hyped is very different in Korea compared to the Western scene. In Korea the hype comes from the companies that owns the groups such as SM Entertainment and YG Entertainment, while hype in the Western world is something that is created by fans. In addition to this, the hype leading up to a comeback of a Korean group is almost ridiculous. Before i got into Starcraft and the Korean scene in general i had never experienced an announcement of an announcement. It also feels like Koreans in general are much more likely to go with the flow. This is however purely my own experience, and i may be wrong.
