No fun allowed. You've grown far too cynical. The whole point of kpop is optimistic messages; yo!

There isn't one group in the past year and a half that debuted with a listenable song, or debuted with a listenable song then came back with another one.

I didn't like half the groups you listed and the other half haven't comeback yet or the comeback was crap.

I can agree with you but probably the only good group out of them lot is The SeeYa. Good potential imo.

I haven't posted much here but I wholeheartedly agree. I started listening around 2008+ in the heyday of ss501, big bang, SNSD, etc. and maybe its just nostalgia glasses but I feel like a lot of the older stuff is just plain more re-listenable. Nowadays I can't even go through a whole music show because of the glut of mediocre boy and girl groups with the most forgettable names/concepts in between the stuff I actually want to listen to (like currently Rainbow, Shinee, Sistar, etc.). I don't want to make this sound like a "back in my day things were better" kind of post and maybe it is but I think there's something wrong when something like 50 new groups debut a year and maybe only a handful of them are still relatively popular the next. Entertainment companies are just throwing darts at a board and hoping something sticks. I don't doubt that the Trainees put in just as much effort as their more lauded peers but their companies need to take a second and actually come up with memorable songs/concepts so that their group isn't just another dance track to an electropoppy background. Other concepts are certainly memorable but are just plain unmarketable (like that ridiculous group whose only merit was having D-cups or something). I think 2011 was still fine as I still listen to a lot of groups that either debuted in '11 or continued from '10 like Girls Day, Apink, BEAST, Mblaq, etc. Something about the huge influx in 2012-13 just made me lose a lot of interest in keeping up with Kpop.

"Is this like 8 songs in a row?"
Why yes, yes it is
LMAO the whole video wasn't that good, but the ending was prime:
"I don't want this to end, but I see the scroll bar almost at the end, ugh " *rapes replay button* "That was kind of gay... ya I could listen to that while I'm working out"
Pretty much describes kpop perfectly for me hahaha You can't escape the allure

I don't think you realize just how many big groups today had pretty fuckin' awful first 1-2 songs.

But, they debut'd before the massive influx of debuts. So they were able to get away with bad first few songs. I want to believe though!

But at least they came back with amazing songs that propelled them into the spot light. Whereas not many new groups even have a chance to have a comeback for their third song so their debut or come back songs really need to do them wonders or they just won't last.
