Kara Pandora came out right before ban, got a chance to listen to the EP more. Not a huge fan of the EP, but Pandora single is pretty good, especially the instrumental that came with the EP. The MV is alright, too much scene cutting, but that just seems to be the style of editing for most kpop mv's. T-ara Sexy Love was just bad..... The only saving grace was the really well done drama MV of it (eunjung w/ short hair, blue eyes, and katana, is extremely awesome). The drama MV was so good, though Sexy Love felt out of place, but considering the song, they did a good job integrating it (by putting it in a club scene, and I loved how they had it more of a background song, rather than straight up (as opposed to Day by Day drama MV)). The regular MV sucks, and the robot MV was even worse. The problem with the "robot" dance, is that it is far more impressive with a singular person. Splitting it up upon members detracts away from the isolation movements of what the robot dance does, not to mention they didn't do body isolation that well. SNSD's new japanese single; was solid, I liked it. Sunny's laugh at the end is so fucking cute, it's pretty ridiculous how cute it is. Her outfit was atrocious though, the upper midriff being shown made her boobs look smaller, and made her look even shorter than she already is, but her hair was really well done(I still prefer the longer brown hair Sunny, though). Is it just me or Hyoyeon is starting to look better? (don't get me wrong; she's still 9th by far). Also they better fucking do a Korean release already, it's been far too long. Fiestar debut, the song was solid, the MV was really meddlingly mediocre though. Upon the debut groups there's always something that stands out to me. For Hello Venus, the first thought that probably pops into your mind is Lime. Dat bright teal/green hair! For Crayon Pop, it's that wheel chair dance in Bing Bing, and that upper cut dance in Saturday Night, the backpack Soyul has in performances, and that blue dress that Ellin wears during Saturday Night promotion (that looks like a sexy wizard robe). For me Fiestar doesn't have anything that really sticks in my mind for me, other than the giant Fiestar sign in the MV, and the fact that their name is pronounced "Fister", which I still get a giant fucking laugh off of it. There was no memorable moment from the MV, also whoever did the choreography is bad, and should feel bad. There is significant part of the dance MV where the middle person is covering up the 6th person. Collation is a great coreagraphy tool if you're using it to create an illusion, or a huge change in spacing for a visual effect, but the usage was absolutely terrible, because the first person just covered up the person, while they were mimicing the same movement. So essentially they just covered up one of their members for no good reason (though they did rotate this among members). The song is great, I love how they play with the "er" sound of Fiester and the "a" sound of Vista in the chorus, it's extremely catchy. Most of the members are very cute, but none of them stand out to me yet. Gangnam style on my local Pop radio station O.o Also, Psy signed w/ the same agency as da Biebs. Not sure what the deal was, but I'm guessing it was probably an album deal and an American tour. I'm not sure what the agency expects out of PSY, but if it's anything like foreigner responses (american/western), it's essentially going to be a comedy album. Sure Gangnam style was quite quirky, and funny, but the entire album alongside it was not quite the same. Upon release of the album there were 4-5 songs from the album that was on Korea's top50 billboards, with Gangnam Style hitting 1st in the 2nd week. I'm sure PSY is getting paid the big bucks (or bigger bucks) to do it, but I hope the agency takes him seriously, not just as William Hung, or Weird Al. Even with the silliness that is Gangnam Style, there are pretty deep lyrics (at least in comparison to current American Pop standards), "i'm a guy with bulging ideas, not muscle" "a girl who covers herself is more sexy than a girl who bares all" (seriously, since when was there a pop song in the US about a conservative dressing girl being more sexy than her more liberal counterpart?) Also those SECRET teaser pics are pretty bad, but zinger and sunwha's are alright. Also with an album name like "poison" I sure hope there's more attitude in their songs, something they've sorely lack. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the oldy setting of Shy Boy, and Starlight Moonlight, but they really do need to modernize up their stuff with heavier beat. Also, been listening to a lot of BEG, holy fuck are they good. I love the jazz instrumentals in their songs, so fucking brilliant.. | ||

Man a lot of releases this Sept. Makes it feel like they're all doing this for my 21st bday! (in a couple o' days) Epik High release expected this Sept. as well right? (can't wait!!!) Everyone here still like Gangnam Style (as far as I know). I actually got some time to listen to the rest of that album release, and I really like Tree Frogs w/ G. Dragon, easily my favorite in that album. I still dance to Gangnam style though! HEEEEYYYYY SEXXXYYYY LADDDDDYYYYY | ||

I really have to disagree with what you said about Vista's choreo though, I thought it was really tight. I mean, you're right about the whole "covering up the person in back" thing, but the rest of it was fun moves the really tied in with the song, especially in the perf. version. | ||

Mister's butt dance, the Butt Sway from Abracadabra, the Body Roll in Ma Boy, the Tail Dance in So Cool, the Leg Kicks in Run Devil Run, the weird wonky knees in and out from Gee (and all those cute hand+face gestures in the opening scene), Wheel Chair dance from Bing Bing, Lime's dorky flexing bicep with dorky face in Venus, all memorable, but after watching Fiestar like 10 times, still nothing pops out to me with the dancing in the MV. EDIT: It may sound like I disliked the dance, but most of the choreography matched the song very well. All I'm saying is that as a debut group you want something people remember you by, so that the 2nd round of promotions/release, people will remember you. | ||
