Was going to post but Synapze hit it on all points. I'm still baffled that Suzy regularly gets praise for her acting because it's still terrible. She's improved but she's still nowhere near the quality of an actual actress, even if they are just "drama" actresses.

I guess it's pretty subjective but I was genuinely impressed with Suzy and her charismatic acting. My 'fanboyism' of Suzy has only came up recently after watching Big because of her acting and how it was much better than most idol actors as I'm not a big Miss A fan. I'm not hating on LMJ, she's definitely a top 3 actress for me(I watched Wonder Radio and all of Smile, you). Maybe saying Suzy acting as good as LMJ was a bit far, but I'm more impressed with Suzy at the moment (8 episodes into Big) than I am with LMJ.

You shouldn't claim that being an actress as one's main occupation holds a certain standard. Try to argue that Suzy is actually worse than Kang So Ra or Kim Sa Rang at acting. I think that you are actually biased with the idea that her being an idol actor automatically puts her below a regular actor.

I also don't think any of Suzy's characters can be analyzed because they are always emotionless or some sort of crazy bitch. So she can either be really bad at acting, or she is really good.

She's worse than Sora, DH2 notwithstanding (Idk what went wrong there).

Perhaps the fact that she's an idol wasn't the best to bring up but still, I find her acting turrible.

I figure it's a bit like people saying the actors in Twilight films are bad (2 hours of my life I'll never get back). You have to look at the script and realise that they are meant to be playing emotionless or emotionally unstable, often immature and irrational, characters. I don't actually know who Suzy is but I noticed this with Yuri and Fashion King

Bad acting is noticeable regardless of the role. You can make shit writing look good if you're a good actor (it's done all the time).

Bad acting leaves you unwilling to suspend your disbelief of events, unable to be drawn into the character development, and generally annoyed by the insincerity of the actor.

That's why she got the part but if I'm watching a drama I want the acting to be good. For idols especially if all I wanted was pretty there's plenty of pictures and vids of them doing other shit for that.

Her character is supposed to be like that though. Eyes only for the guy, relentlessly chasing him, following him to Seoul and watching over his comatose body. It's purely the way it's been written that instead of her being looked at as a sad character it's brushed off as a joke, a deranged bitch for comedic relief. See Moon Chae-Won in Shining Inheritance for a mirror of this character played seriously, and extremely well at that.

Not a natural actress but doing reasonably well. Enough bashing I say.

Except the same is, a lot of the time, applied to real actresses. Being attractive, especially in Korea, is almost a must for any actor or actress who intends to become popular with netizens (unless its a humorous or novelty character, in which case they are noted for that).
