To ensure this thread won't be closed, you must adhere to several a number of simple rules; - Please use spoilers when quoting a post with pictures and/or videos.
- When posting large quantities of media (pictures or videos), please begin spoilering after the first piece. Grouping related videos in the same spoilers & labeling is recommended.
- No reposting of old material unless justified
- Posting any material with little or no relevent discussion accompanying it
- No passion-induced flaming of each other because 'x said y sucked' etc.
- Keep the expression hate of music individuals/groups to a minimal level
- No 'pagetopping' in any form whatsoever, as it constitutes spam equal to posts similar to 'first'.
- No vulgar fan fics or wet dream stories. It is creepy, weird, and it dehumanizes the people who you are here to celebrate/discuss.
- Normal posting standards that you find throughout the rest of the site still apply and will be enforced more strictly from here forward (2012/03/11)

I don't know how legit this is, but it's pretty intesting if true. I have heard of this blog before (mainly from AKP posting it on their page sometimes). TL;DR Interscope is going to push hard for SNSD global popularity.
+ Show Spoiler +From http://www.theprophetblog.net/exclusive-interscope-records-big-plans-for-girls-generationYesterday I got some insider goss on Asia’s biggest girl group that was just too good not to share with my fellow K-Poppers. After successfully introducing Girls’ Generation to American audiences earlier this year, Interscope Records is now determined to turn the girls into global superstars, and it’s all thanks to Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine. The label boss was impressed with the way the girls handled themselves when they made their US TV debut in late January, and now he’s convinced that they have what it takes to go international. Now that pop groups are becoming big in the States again, Iovine’s made Girls’ Generation a “top priority” at Interscope. Not only will they have access to the biggest producers that the label has to offer, but he’s also planning to have them work with some lesser-known names to try and find the best sound for the group. In short: everyone is going to be submitting material for the SNSD album. The plan is to have the girls focus on their Korean and Japanese activities for the rest of the year, while they quietly prepare for their international debut with an English album, which is tentatively due for release next year. Interestingly enough, Jimmy has also been talking about 2NE1 after learning about the group through will.i.am. But despite all the international attention that 2NE1 has been receiving, Iovine seems to be more interested in Girls’ Generation and is throwing all of his support behind them right now, although he could end up being involved with 2NE1 in the future. It’s not hard to see why Iovine has taken more of a liking to SNSD over 2NE1. With their stunning beauty and synchronized dance moves, they probably remind him a lot of the Pussycat Dolls, who he launched to pop stardom back in 2005. So guys, be on the lookout for Girls’ Generation to make a major grab for global success next year. Who’s excited?

I'm about as interested in Kpop idols making English albums as I am about their Japanese endeavors. That is not at all.

Even less excited because at least I also don't understand japanese. Also having American producers means that it'll be even less kpopish than English the boys, and at that point I'll listen to Rihanna or something because at least she doesn't have an awful accent.

So what was the general consensus on what happened with The Boys? An English song shoved with Korean lyrics or a Korean song shoved with English lyrics. I thought it was the latter.

You're da best! Dem downvotes are strong with you Hall0wed.
Taeyeon and her tongue :D :D The song in the background makes me want to dig up that performance they did with the fans ._. For anybody who wondered what I was talking about...below!

Does it really matter which way it went? It ended up being terrible, which is generally what happens. WG had a lot of awful sounding songs in English, as did 2NE1, iirc.

Man fuck. Already knew someone would just type the most simple answer, completely ignoring the topic in question. Kinda disappointed it wasn't Purpl3 though.
You hear that Purpl3? I am disappoint. So interesting to refresh the General forums and watch the View number change for this thread. Goes up so fast!

Oh come on Soneyeon. You love to state the obvious in everything. Why change now?

Stating the obvious, I still refuse to see the appeal of a girl with no eyebrows. That's my obvious statement of the day. Good day.

Whenever I see Taeyeon's eyebrows I have this really weird disconnect with reality. Kinda like those odd revelations you get when extremely high, where things stop making sense. (I stopped smoking years ago) "Whoa! Everyone has lines of hair above their eyes, isn't that odd?" Then I have to go look at people with normal eyebrows until it passes.
She has that effect on me, that's how weird her eyebrows look.
Oh, earlier I said I didn't like any kpopers jap stuff, I lied, that Scream track by 2ne1 is catchy. They should do a Korean version.

Your posts make me smile :D

KARA's Japanese albums are pretty good. They have Nicole in it. And stuff... I also really liked the ballad that Secret did in Japanese. Rainbow's newest single was good as well so I wouldn't say that all Japanese stuff made by KPop groups are bad.

So I introduced my fiance to Kpop since I knew she already liked Jpop. What did I just get myself into?
|
She may develop a penchant for 130lb boys who wear make up.
|
Considering the predominance of Visual Kei bands in JPop, I'm sure she'll think kpop is rather conservative.
