Might as well tell your friend to go listen to Western music if you add Heaven.
Why, because she can actually sing? Or is it because she was raised American? In that case, the same could be said for SNSD since they have Sica and Tiffany. I don't think that it's very fair to label her as "Western music" while maybe her singing style is western, her song is kpop. It was written for her by people in the kpop industry, it is sung in korean, and it has been featured on the Korean kpop show circuit. I am just having trouble seeing where this comment is coming from.
O man. I've never seen Minah outside of pictures and girl's day MVs, but she's quite annoying here. I now understand the pain of fake/overly used aegyo on Minah. You can see it even when they don't do a closeup on her.
I need you help, I'm making a playlist for a friend of mine to get him into K-pop. I have a good pool to chose from but I need more. SO just send a song or a list of songs you think would get him hooked. If you don't want to clog the thread with posts like this just PM me.
That depends on your friend's music taste and what songs you already have on the list -.-
I'm trying to make the list as general as possible, with as many different varieties and styles as possible. Anything you think sounds good will work.
Among other things people have said I would toss these in Big Bang - Haru Haru Rainbow - A SHINee - Replay TVXQ - Mirotic IU - Good Day SNSD - Gee, Genie, Mistake

I agree, was was cringing the entire episode because of her. I like her alot but this is too much. It's also because that was when they only just debuted so she had to make impact.

Daaaamn either the hate is strong with you guys but I just thought "you guys are really cringing over this?" OR I haven't seen enough of Minah's annoying aegyo stunts.
Hahaha that Yura clip was cute although pretty excessive and lol I just noticed that super aegyo from Minah haaha so er how do I say this?... annoying hah
man watching that uknow yunho vid side tracked me from taeyang to gd to snsd somehow on the related videos and now I lost like 45 minutes where i shoulda been doing a paper xD

Not really.
not just heaven, almost all kpop songs are 1/3 to 1/2 english these days
Why exaggerate.... Find me a song that's half English please. Prove me wrong.
Dia would make a pretty nice girlfriend. She's got a voice, listens to kpop, and is not bad to look at.

I know the feeling. I remember when I was writing papers, I'd always get a block and then go on youtube to put a song on, and somehow I spend the next 2 hours looking through music instead. I pretty much blasted music throughout college papers/studying though.

Because you're not a lazy person that can just take a 6 month break from work/studies/school.
Pretty much the only reason I haven't gone there yet.
Haha. Best compromise is take a semester or two of Korean, go to Korea as a foreign exchange student, stay there for a semester (or two), and if you really like it there, when you graduate go back again, get a job as a teacher, and stay for a year.
That's my plan anyways.
you can get a job as an english teacher without knowing any Korean. Staying in Korea is also a great way to pick up Korean - just being exposed to a language non stop makes picking it up extremely simpler! But, teaching is a dead end job, so don't over do it!
And no, i'm not a girl, but I don't use the bb cream either (only like once and i forget what for). You can get bb cream with your KFC in a meal (srs), and there are samples everywhere, and i bought some too cos it seemed pretty unique to SK without it being fucked over in customs, cos i hadn't heard of bb cream before. but yeah it makes you pale. Didn't know it was to do with nobility though.
Fat people used to be the wealthy ones, I hope we stay away from that one in years to come.
p.s: a 6 month VACATION in SK is ridiculous, no one should spend 6 months in a tiny country doing nothing but wandering around. Tell ur bro to do something useful while hes there lol
Random but related cool thing happened to me today...
I was in greater vancouver area and stopped at a small sushi hole in the wall type place and it was owned by koreans which is fairly common here. I noticed a small TV playing some ridiculous advertisments (get ripped in 6 weeks type stuff) which I found out where coming from Youtube and coming off a streaming a playlist.
The first song I had no idea what it was, until the end the text at the bottom right of the MV said "Beast". Then I saw the youtube playlist feature come up and show the next song at the bottom of the screen. My eyes literally lit up as I saw
[MV] Kara - Mister
Being the only person in this very tiny shop, I sang along to the chorus, quietly and watched :D Well the owner noticed and started laughing at me, causing me to get pretty embarrassed. He saw me start to laugh embarrassed too, and asked me in a thick Korean accent and broken English "You know Korean singer?"
We talked while he made my Bulgogi Kimbap and Dynamite roll. He complimented my Korean accent when I tried to say "So Nyuh Shi Dae" and we both had a good laugh when he handed me my food and I responded with "Jal moke get sum nida" in probably the most horrendous Canadian attempt at a Korean accent ever. I gave him a humorously deep bow and left with a "Khamsamnida!" I think we both made each others day, he looked sincerely happy.
He gave me his name too, Sungmin. I can't wait to go back and remember more cheesy lines next time (I'll leave first, Lets speak comfortably). Oh and the sushi/kimbap was delicious! This was my first time having Bulgogi Kimbap, it's basically like teryaki beef and instead of rice on the outside of the seaweed it's on the inside. At least, that was my experience.

Lol, that video barely has over 500k views while the other one posted is at 950k views. But I think both of you misinterpreted what the other was saying. Jax1492 is saying that kpop songs are 1/3 to 1/2 english these days . But radioman says find me any kpop video, which is not what jax is saying. Jax is talking about how recent kpop songs have loads of english while radio is thinking that jax is saying the majority of all kpop songs are full of english. And then musume puts down a song from 3 years ago from BigBang that apparently isn't remotely popular even with almost all english lyrics and tons of sex appeal. The other video loaded by sc2zero7 and was released even earlier then Number 1. While Ailee's Heaven, which was the initial subject of the debate and posted last month and has over 1mil views, has even less english then the two posted songs. Go figure.
Argh haha good story Synapze ^_^ man i miss korean food stupid college campus and this might be bad but what's a dynamite roll? just a kimbab roll? and "Jal moke get sum nida" sorry for being nit picky but were you trying to say you'll enjoy it? xD

I was attempting by memory to say "I will eat well" which I see them say a lot in Korean dramas and TV shows. He understood me though, or at least gave off the impression he did! A dynamite roll is a typed of cooked sushi. It's usually prawn tempura, fake crab, avocado, carrots and mayonnaise garnished with salmon eggs. I thought dynamite rolls were famous, like California rolls but apparently its a western Canada thing says wiki!
Synapze where abouts were you? I live in the Coquitlam area and there are a ton of Korean owned sushi joints and just Korean stores in general. Coquitlam is Korea town.
Nation pretty much summed up what I meant with my original response. It wasn't a direct attack it was more of a what.. did I miss something?
