If you can't hold a conversation in a language, then you don't speak the language.

Just like koreans think its cooler to add random eng(rish) to random kpop songs. I'd say you know the language if you can indeed hold a full conversation with someone, if you can just recognize lyrics or certain phrases then you don't really know the language. Lyric translations are probably not worth knowing for any song except ballads though anyway.

Yeah I'm practically on the same boat in regards to the language. I'm slowly learning but I can actually read hangul OK and now my reading speed isn't quite bad either given that I practice just by reading what my Korean friends are saying over chat. When I listen to them speak I'll generally pick up a few things of their conversation every now and then which is really cool and I get stupid excited. It's sooo fun learning the language though we should practice together! <3

Except if its LoL, in which case I can switch very fast and not lose important game time(so to speak).

I know they were the kings before the lawsuit, does anyone else really like them? I really enjoy TVXQ, most played boy group besides Suju on my lastfm

But back on topic of kpop discussion, I just hope it's not some allkpop mistranslation bullshit, and that he actually follows through on that too, ie that it's not just big talk. If he really thinks this way then that's a huge relief from a soshi fan perspective. Sunny/Hyo on IY2 and now this and things suddenly starting to look real cool again Assuming both are true of course

korean sounds nice when sung, but when spoken, sounds like horse shit. the same goes for cantonese. imho mandarin chinese is the one that sounds nice when spoken and sung. korean as a language is not that useful to learn as well, has very little utility compared to something like mandarin. while i am cantonese, i have been meaning to learn mandarin for ages..... just too lazy :D As for the above post, i disagree. For some reason, most people find the situation as: If i dont understand it, I don't like it, unless its something like danza lucenzo. imho that is pretty much why the asian songs wont succeed, no matter how pretty yoona is.
