Due to the poor nature of this thread in the past, temporary two-day bans will occur more than often if people slip up.

The only Blackjack we had got banned for about 90 days, although I am fairly certain that one of the posters here is just an alt of him.

There's annoying people in any fandom. Sones get a bad rap because there are so many and have to fend off inordinate amounts of hate from a lot of people. Other fandoms, especially Blackjacks and ELFs, are absolutely vicious towards SNSD and sones. I'd rather be known as an annoying fanbase than an asshole fanbase to be quite honest. Then again, from experience, it's all just a VERY vocal minority of each fanbase that gives the rest a bad name.

As for the "How can you hate them they are angels?!?!" thing...I don't see how people hate them, but whatever haha, it's all subjective anyway so I don't judge if people don't like them. I like to think when I say things like that(Hyoyeon for example) it comes off less judgmental and more in good fun. But seriously, Seohyun = angel and you all know it =P

I'm of the opinion that snsd is a good group, but gets overhyped by their fanbase. I think they'd be top tier but wouldn't have the "representative girl group" kinda title if they hadn't gotten lucky and happened to have a good song written for them in Gee, cause honestly everything before and after has been pretty mediocre if not downright shitty(itnw being an exception, that song is great), and now get all the attention more cause theyre a popular group and less cause the stuff they put out is really good.

Just look at Wonder Girls, the previous "nation's girl group", when they did Kissing You and SNSD did Tell Me. I mean, I don't want to bash or anything, but let's be real here. SNSD killed it and WG was freaking terrible. I definitely think there's more to SNSD's success than just being popular from Gee. Would they be where they are without Gee? Doubtful to say the least. edit: Variety show performance is a HUGE factor as well.

I think if it weren't for gee we wouldnt have a clear favorite, instead there would just be a top tier of girl groups (wg, snsd, Kara, etc.). I don't think there's anything else otherwise that thy clearly are so much better than anyone else-their variety is ok, dont do much now theydont have to, vocals are average except for taeyeon, but other groups have great vocalists as well -sistar, secret, etc. The snsd vs wg thing was more that tell me was very similar to snsds style anyway, so it wasn't really a stretch, but that's neither here nor there.

Hey guys just wondering something about 'mint condition albums' I just got 2 albums for my birthday (so fucking awesome) to add to my massive collection of one copy of 'Oh'. It's now so cool and the first t-ara album. Question is, is it worth keeping 'oh' and the t-ara album shrink wrapped or is it kind of pointless and I should just open the damn things? (already opened so cool couldn't help it, dat Hyorin) thanks ^-^

Gee definitely did not "create" SNSD. I was living at a base in Korea at the time and ITNW, Girl's Generation, and a bit later Kissing You def. sealed the deal for their popularity. For such a long time, you couldn't flip channels on the weekend w/o seeing any soshis on a variety show... that and because every Korean and their mothers found Tiffany super interesting. and like moonwrath said .. variety shows play a HUGE part in a group's success. Gee and Genie was just the icing on the cake =] Had they not had Gee, I'm sure some other song would've done as well in it's place.

and as for the poll... obviously the group w/ the larger fan base will have more annoying people in it T_T I appreciate KPOP for what it is and it's just a fact that there will probably be more sones here than other fan base reps.

... Just my personal experience, albeit biased but it has some first hand credibility

Maybe 20 years from now it'll be worth something. Otherwise, not really.

And the reasons why I think people think that SNSD fans are so annoying is because there are so many of them, they are usually the girl group that people first listen to when beginning to listen to kpop, and because whenever someone asks for good kpop SNSD fans will recommend more SNSD videos then other girl groups since there's more of them. I still like SNSD anyways though.
