As for idol groups well Sistar =Hyorin rest of the group can't sing for shit can they?(or atleast if they do I haven't seen it) 2NE1 I hate 2NE1 but I suppose they can sing. Frankly, Davichi is the only popular female idol ballad group so yeah its kind of expected for them to win. If See Ya would still be there then they'd be at #2 or even #1. Lee Boram come back pl0x kthx. Also, I looked through most of the Step performances Hara has 0 lines in the entire song, confirm/deny? | ||

I'm no expert when it comes to singing, but I feel that Taeyeon vs. Hyorin is a toss-up. From what I've read and heard, Taeyeon has great technique and control with her singing, but that there's nothing really special about her voice itself. Hyorin, on the other hand, is not as technically sound as Taeyeon and her control isn't as good, but her voice is amazing and really stands out when you hear it. In that way, Hyorin is like Bom, who also has quite an amazing and unique voice as far as Kpop goes. | ||

Also underrated and fairly unkown for now(stuck in rookie girl group #wellfuckmeIdon'tevenknowhowmanyweareonrightnow) Then again its the best rookie girl group for this year and with A Cube backing them I doubt theyl dissapear + Show Spoiler + http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dcjv7NV5TXg She also has a disturbingly good Trot sound + Show Spoiler + Eunji will destroy everyone in 2012 True story. Anyway keep a lookout for her, girl got amazing potential. Ow yeah, we need some more ballad Idol groups imo. | ||

I can agree with the second part, Taeyeon has amazing technical ability but for me, when I hear her voice, it sounds good and all but there's nothing special, there's no "it" factor. Hyorin has decent technique but more than that her voice just sounds amazing. It's husky like you mentioned but there's something intangible and amazing about it as well. don't really know where the Bom part is coming from though, she's a capable singer but wouldn't put them up with those three. Speaking of Davichi, KMK prolly makes it up there as well. Not as good as any of them mentioned but like was said, Davichi is a group that basically only sings, and since there's only two of them she does have to have ability to be in that group. edit- And I do think that Taeyeon also gets alot more credit than she would otherwise just cause she's in SNSD, and fanboys gonna hype anything they do to the extreme. double edit- Yeah I don't think Apink is going anywhere. Other than Dal Shabet (they were a '11 group right?) I don't think any of the other new groups really made much of an impact. An argument could be made for Rania but that was more for the sex concept and Teddy Riley than actually being good. I Don't Know is easily one of my favorite songs this year, rookies or no. Davichi's comeback is probably my favorite. triple edit- @Cyric I'm not judging Taeyeon by SNSD's songs since they don't require much vocal capability, I'm judging by the solo stuff and special performances she's done. | ||
