Following the news of Rainbow and T-ARA’s crossover to Japan, it’s been announced that 4-membered girl group SECRET also have plans to debut there as well. The girls plan to break into the J-pop scene with the Japanese version of their hit single “Madonna“, which will come out on August 3rd.
These girls became one of the hottest girl groups in Korea, and Japanese record labels battled hotly for their contract. In the end, SECRET signed on with Sony Music Artist Records.
A representative from Sony commented, “I was surprised by how good the songs were, as well as how polished their performance was.”
Leader Hyosung commented, “With our Japanese debut coming up, I am very nervous. We are preparing very hard with new feelings, so please look forward to it. And please give SECRET a lot of love.”
The group will be holding a showcase live in Tokyo on July 6th prior to the release of their Japanese single. So the day after T-ara has a showcase, SECRET is going to have one too. Wonder how long till the Japanese get fed up. Probably like we/Koreans are now. Pay attention to a few girl groups, ignore the rest. It's kinda expected after people saw how much money Kara/SNSD are making over there, tons more than they ever made in Korea
Yeah, Japan must look like a bloody gold mine to the companies, comparing it to Korea.
Edit: T-ara comeback. The girls will be working with Shinsadong Tiger and Choi Kyu Sung for their comeback track, “Bo Peep Bo Peep 2 – Roly Poly“! The song is described to be an ’80s retro track with a disco style, which was inspired by John Travolta’s image.
A total of 20 dancers will be joining the girls on stage to recreate that disco feel. T-ara will bring back popular dance moves from the ’70s and ’80s in their choreography, including the hustle, diamond dance, and the ABC dance.
Core Contents Media explained, “T-ara’s new album, ‘John Travolta Wannabe‘, is a concept about missing John Travolta from the movie, ‘Saturday Night Fever‘. We’ve emphasized the charms of disco and retro styles.”
The album is scheduled for release on July 1st, so stay tuned for more updates!
Oh dear me. I just can't picture them doing it right. Just the track name has got me laughing my ass off, Bo Peep Bo Peep 2 - Roly Poly. Seriously?
|
I think we've got to the point where good new concepts don't exist; they'll either do something that hasn't been done before, do something general like "sexy", or do something ridiculous (see this and SNSD's cab driver thing)
|
anyone that came to Singapore on the 4th June for the Heal The World concert?
After School, Tiara and Orange Caramel.. And even sang birthday song for Ji Yeon during the concert lol
|
I personally found snsd's ridiculous taxi driver concept pretty funny, I did not mind, but Disco? That is pretty ridiculous and bad, in my opinion. I also don't want 20 dancer's blocking my view. And why would anyone want to be like John Travolta, only movie of his I liked was Pulp Fiction, and that was because of Samuel l Jackson.

Bo Peep Bo Peep 2 - Roly Poly
Great song name, or greatest song name? It sounds like a bad kid's movie haha.

i love my job.
i work at a tutoring center with the majority of the kids being korean. i was helping one of the student's moms with her visa paperwork stuff and i mentioned that i was going to korea in july with my best friend from college. when she heard that she offered me her spare apartment in hongdae! awesome location and it saves us a ton of money that we would have spent on hostels.
but it gets better!
she asked what i was planning on doing during my stay, and i mentioned that there would be a SNSD concert happening july 23rd.
yup. 3 days later she stops by the tutoring center and tells me that she bought 2 tickets for SNSD's july 23rd concert in seoul for my friend and me! when i asked her how much money i owe her she said it was a gift. BALLER STATUS.
she got a friend in korea to buy the tickets for us so i'm not sure which seats i'll have... hopefully i'm in standing A/B/C!

Indeed it is separate, start of a second asian tour as you thought.
Lucky bastard.

Tallest is Sooyoung who is 170cm. 170 cm is what? 5'8"? I think average height of women in Korea is like 160. So i guess SNSD just looks tall in comparison to the rest of people around them on camera, especially since they wear killer heels and insoles (Sunny...)
I think it's time for me to get a tutoring job in Koreatown.
How much do those tickets cost anyway?

Bah, I'm struggling to get the cash together to buy the Phuket DVD set, let alone go to Korea and attend concerts.
Woe!
