Wow, I stood up when he said it even though we knew it was going to happen. If the episode ended like that in the first half, it would have been depressing. But now that Ayane and Chizu gave her a talk, i think its going to be the other way around, where Sawako is trying to "fix" her mistakes and try to convey how she feels to Kazehaya (who i still think that he thinks she doesnt like him that way). Interesting how Kent reacted sounded like he was just saying things and said he screwed up (I guess hes not a bad guy afterall?). Whats more interesting is Ume's (is that her name? I forgot it) reaction to the news. I thought shes given up on him, unless she still likes him, probable, i guess. Kazehaya will probably continue to act the same way? (as in sorta ignoring Sawako) And somehow Sawako has to find the confidence and figure out how she really feels and tell him. I thought the whole episode was gonna be all sad and shit but, chibi forms cheer me up.

That scene was really funny. I look forward to the next episode. Depending on how they play out the ending it might be better than Madoka, atleast for me.

I don't understand this whole counter-force / origin business, mages are looking essentially for like the motherlode of something, but there is something preventing them from doing that? The way the episode was all back and forth didn't help much either >< Araya was killed everyone in the building in this huge elaborate plot to have them kill eachother over and over until there was a difference? dont understand ><

A lot of the confusing stuff is standard Nasuverse fare.

Magi don't really seek recognition. Rather, their ultimate goal is to reach the Akashic records which is basically the origin of everything. The world is treated as a sentient being (sort of) in that it has a will, the counter force. The purpose of the counter force is basically to stop any phenomenon that will result in the destruction of the world. The counter force also actively stops magi from reaching Akasha.

The episode is really, really non-linear. It might help to watch it again and see what you missed the first time though.

IIRC, Araya was just studying death, hence why he had those people die over and over again, looking for variations. The elaborate plot was just to capture Shiki and awaken her origin so that he would be able to access the Akashic records.

I was thinking of watching it again, but its so long ill have to do it when I have more time. How did Araya get around the counter-force? it wasnt really explained very well.

And that was pretty clever by Julian, to lure the Imperial Forces in like that. And Schenkopp used hax so that he could fire the Thor Hammer right after firing it a first time. : /
