you sir are a fucking Hero. I just finished it (sorry, I couldn't follow the set schedule :[ but once I get into watching it I usually power watch stuff), and I can say with all my heart that the end of the show was totally worth going through 110 episodes of epic awesomness and that those of you not yet done have more epicness incoming.

There's not as much violin scenes, since the protagonists are pianists but I must admit as a hardcore classical enthusiast and cellist myself I've checked the fingerings myself and they're pretty damn accurate. Granted, it's not perfect, but in comparison to other classical music related animes (e.g La Corda D'oro, UGH - that made me cringe big time) it's definitely the best I've seen. Ahh, I hadn't really thought about Nodame, maybe I will watch it. I had originally just figured it was another one of those billion or so immature romance titles (because so many titles listed under romance are :/) But considering it IS about music, I should have realized that most titles that take music seriously aren't the same as most other anime. Also thanks for posting the Hanasaku Iroha PV Spazer, that looks quite interesting.

LOGH: + Show Spoiler + Favorite characters/moments? There are sooo many characters in this show that I really liked. The Empire was full of badasses, and the Alliance was full of likable guys. Repost of my end-of-series thoughts: On January 02 2011 16:50 Sentenal wrote: Just finished Legend of the Galactic Heroes. It was one of the best animes I have ever seen. The plot, the characters, the feel of the entire show was great. They really don't make anime like that anymore. There were so many good characters in this show, and even characters you thought were minor or insignificant show up in meaningful ways, and you ever start to care about them before you realize it. The battles were huge and well thought out, and above all else, were entertaining without relying on well animated action sequences like so many shows do now days. Thoughts on characters+spoilers: + Show Spoiler + Reinhard: My favorite from the show, since he was essentially the main character. Following him for 110 episodes was a real treat. Space Napoleon was so deep as a character, he was like the perfect combination between ambition, perfection, and human. Reinhard really did personify the Imperial-side characters in this show, with his power and badassness. When he was escaping from that assassination attempt early in the last season, and rose up and made those would-be assassins shit their pants was so great. Yang: His death at the end of season 3 really surprised me. He was Reinhard's equal and opposite in so many ways. Tactically, no one was superior in this show. Just as how Reinhard represented the Imperial-side characters, Yang represented the Alliance side. Very idealistic, very likable, he was like an every-day person who rose up to the challenge when history demanded. Kircheis: It seems like it was forever ago when he died. His death was the first time in the show I really knew I cared for these characters. He was just so nice, and so good at the things he was doing. I felt that he and Reinhard would stay together for the entire show... And then he died. It was one of the saddest parts of the anime, if not THE saddest. Julian: I actually got to watch Julian grow up into a Mini-Yang in this show. I didn't expect that when I first met him. I thought that I wouldn't like the kid when he first showed up, but before I knew it, he was a fighter pilot, and then he was killing people with axes, and ordering fleets around. Mittermeyer: My favorite non-Reinhard character. His battle against Reuenthal was easily his high point. He was strong willed, talented in combat, loyal to his friends and family, and you could really feel his pain when he fought against his best friend. I first knew I would like him during the battle of Amlitzer. Reuenthal: Another badass character. He was a very tragic person. He was essentially forced into rebellion when he had been loyal, and was forced to fight against his best friend. Not to mention all the stuff with his childhood. Schenkopp: The most badass character on the alliance side. Made sense though, since he was originally from the empire. He slaughtered many people with a battle axe, and when he was doing that, was simply an enjoyable character to watch. RIP you died a good death. Bittenfeld: Unlike all the other Imperial admirals, he was all like RAWR CHARGE. He punched out Oberstein. I like. Kesler: The guy didn't get too much time to shine, but when he got to do stuff, he was great at it. Him saving Hilda and Annarosa at the end was great. He also seemed like the most human of all of Reinhard's admirals, with that early part in season 1 where he had to take the supplies off the planets predeeding the Alliance's advance. Lutz: I don't know when I started to like him, but I knew I did when he died in glory. Muller: Muller another extremely likable guy. He started out as a noob, but he really shined at the Battle of Vermillion. Its only too bad that after the battle, Reinhard used him mostly as a rear guard, for better or worse. Eisenach: ... Poplan: The guy was very funny, I'm glad he survived. Wahlen: Him and his fake arm were badass. I liked him. Karin: Hottest girl in the show. Also, you gotta be careful about hyping this show! Apparently people get really pissed off when others hype LOGH. I mean, who cares if they hype all of their favorite anime and no one cares, but hype THIS show, and God help you. + Show Spoiler + First of all my favorite character is not the same as the one I liked the most, or the one I enjoyed seeing in the anime the most. My favorite character was actually Oberstein, because he fits so good damn well into the role he has been given, by Rheinhard and the producers of the anime/mange. I did hate him at times, I never loved his ways, I loved it when he got punched by Bittenfield. But the reason for him being my favorite of the shows is simply the way he fits into everything. The one I liked the most was Rheinhard, his way off going from a no-name to universal supreme sovereign was the most epic and badass thing I have seen from an anime. He also fits the character of enlightend sovereign perfectly. And his spirit and way of life style was just too good not to be liked. Only thing I don't really like was the way he ended. Not because it was stupid, or that someone got lucky or something like that. But more off the way that he actually had to die. (which became pretty clear once the fevers became more frequent). The one I enjoyed the most in the show: Yang Wenli, because, even though he was a sleepy "do-I-have-do-it" kinda guy, he was still a total baller in his own way. Also the way he uses history for references (trolololo alcohole) is just damn smart. Who ever wrote the script and created Yang Wenli deserves a good damn medal. I really liked the way they ended him, even though I would have liked to see more of him, because I feel like another 30eps or so with him in charge would probably have ended more boring that fruitfull. Also this gave Julian Minci the chance to shine instead of being the mini-version of Wenli, Attenbourough and Poplan combined. I liked the death of Yang because I think it suited him, he was not destined to be brought down in fleet to fleet combat, and this way he got taken without the extreme drama and 10+ filler episodes that normally appears while one of the protagonists die. opinion on other characters, in no order of favoritisme: Kircheis: Siegfried was just the perfect person to accompany Rheinhard in the beginning of his journy. And even though I regret them killing him off so early, I think it was a neccessary step in the evolution of Rheinhard. Tbh I think the Rheinhard and Kircheis would have settled with the alliance being another Phezzan kinda place ruled on it's own but as a part of imperial territory. Also I think his life would have meant for a lot weaker Rheinhard when it came to governing and decision making. I did shed a tear on his death though. The Twin stars of the empire: Reuntaler: was and is always the badass you except him to be. Much like Oberstein he fell into his role and fits it perfectly, first as the excellent commander of an imperial fleet. Then as a local leader, and finally as the tragic loyal hero that rebels because of love to his master. Mittemeyer: Has got to be one of the most likeable guys in the show, he was just plain out understanding towards everyone (cept for oberstein ofc, but then again nobody were). The way he treated everyone and his friendship with Reuntaler just made it even more painfull for me to watch them fight it out. Even though it was much needed for it to happen so that the loyal hero's sacrifice weren't to go to waste. there is a long list of people I have opinions on except from these but I will shorten the number down a bit. Lutz: I think he met his end the way he wanted it. Protecting the Kaiser and ensuring his safety was the way for him to go. Hilda: To damn smart to be secretary, to perfect to not be married to Rheinhard. if 1+1=2 then that child is gonna be a fucking genious. Frederica: same as with Hilda, and if they had ever had a child same would have applied to her and Yang. Bittenfeld: The most baller and badass person on the imperial side. Dude is like: see that fleet? CHARGE!! See that fleet and it's doubble our size you say? CHARGE!!! Impregnable fortress? CHARGE!! Schenkopp: While Bittenfeld is the most badass person on the imperial side, Schenkopp has got to be the most badass on the Alliance side. But then again he was once imperial so that doesn't set the expectations low. Einsach:... Karin: again; While Hilda and Frederica were perfect for their respective Husbands, Karin is the perfect match for Julian. Merkatz: like Lutz I think he found his end the way he both wanted and dreamed of. end note: I really liked the show and it's characters, if I am gonna say that I liked one moment the most I will say that it's the moment that begins 00.01sec into the first episode and ends at ep 110 at around the 25min mark. there is just to many good things in it to name one. I also like the entire story, ideologies, it's theme, all it's democracy vs autocracy discussions etc etc. first thing I think after 5 minutes of King of Thorn: holy check that's alot of religions put into 5 minutes. Greek Mythology, Medusa, Roman: Venus. Germanic and sleeping beauty. not to mention the goddamn king of thorns himself: Jesus.

Now that you finished the series, are you planning on watching the Movies and the Gaidens? The first 2 movies were very good, and the LOGH Gaiden thus far have been good sidestory/prequel material. There is like 50 episodes-worth of more LOGH.

Omg Luna. I wonder if maybe there's a goddess in Tsukiyo causing her to float :O And lol at Shiori's novel. They're oppressed by "Count Casiraghi." Now that I'm caught up to this series, I realize how short the chapters are. Eighteen pages a week seems pretty sparse : /

Watching King of Thorn atm and have to work through the green hornet tv-series before I start the movies and gaiden. even though it was super awesome I need a small break after 110eps

Question: Does Hayate actually know that everyone else is a magi? And if she doesn't, wouldn't she think that there's something weird with having a pet wolf with blue fur? Also, is the Velka-type magic better than the...for lack of a proper term, mainstream magic? Or is it just a different style with its own pros and cons? I've also noticed inconsistencies. When Nanoha woke up in the bed on the space station, she had the black ribbons. But then in the next scene, same day, same station, she has her normal white bows. Fate had the white bows too. It looked kinda dumb lol. And why does every goddamn character have a huge cowlick on the side of their hair? Did the character designer do that to make himself feel better because he has bad hair? Ep 4 looks great, seems like Nanoha and Fate might get the Velka-type magic. Edit: I'm also loving all the obvious yuri undertones. Those scenes when Nanoha and Fate just stare into each other's eyes are too cute.

But it seems that floating Luna will get in the way. And he plans to work with Nora (ugh) to find the goddesses. I thought something stupid was gonna happen in this chapter like Nora/Haqua releasing the megane demon. And Keima mentioned that he hasn't heard from Elsie lately. Next chapter: Deal with Luna and/or Tsukiyo, Haqua gets jealous, and still no word from Elsie. I feel like the author is just trying to make everything that can possibly go wrong, go wrong at this point.
