There's a torrent for Magia (Madoka ED) on tokyotosho if anyone's interested. It's from a live recording or something though. I got it just so I could listen to the rest of the song. It's five minutes long. O.o

But yeah, it's quite rare to see a scene of someone playing an instrument who is actually playing it properly for the notes they are playing (or even something remotely close). :< Reading this, I can only recommend Nodame Cantabile as the go-to anime if you want something that does respect to classical music and proper playing of instruments. There's not as much violin scenes, since the protagonists are pianists but I must admit as a hardcore classical enthusiast and cellist myself I've checked the fingerings myself and they're pretty damn accurate. Granted, it's not perfect, but in comparison to other classical music related animes (e.g La Corda D'oro, UGH - that made me cringe big time) it's definitely the best I've seen.

Sure it's epic, and sure it's long, and sure there is no moemoe, but the show isn't as complex or engaging as some of you make it out to be. You get beaten over your head with the same message that history always repeats itself. While it's not as simplistic as a typical fight of good versus evil, the character types aren't that believable, all the chivalry and honor makes you sick. Plus there is like 3204 flashbacks and the pace is very uneven, at times unnecessarily slow (no progression, and no change of atmosphere in several episodes). It's a relatively well made space opera but I can't see how it's the GERATUST ANIMU EVAR. Shauni, you are right. I'm sorry for saying that LoGH is one of my favorite animes. I am sorry that I ever expressed my opinion on the show. In the future, before I ever make an anime recommendation, I will consult with you to check and see if my opinion is valid, and get your approval. After all, only your opinion on anime counts, and only your opinion on anime is the truth. I mean, its not like a guy posted a list of anime that he wanted to watch (which included LoGH), and I simply told him to go watch an anime that I personally feel is a masterpiece.

He's not referring to one post, he's referring to the 134 posts you've made regarding the show, about half of which offer hyperbolic praise without looking at it's (many) flaws. And yes, it has a lot of flaws even though I've seen barely half of it. The pacing is flat out bad, and the show's tendency to infodump information that is neither relevant to the show, nor interesting, nor well delivered, is extremely frustrating. It is a good show, but you should understand what sort of show it is. However, you seem so driven to praise it that you completely ignore what context you are praising it in. When someone writes that they have a massive backlog and are not sure what to watch next, advocating watching LoGH is totally absurd. Reacting to someone's valid criticism of a show by sarcastically attacking them is both immature and also implies that you are not able to respond to the critique in a more substantive manner.

Hes not sure what to watch next. I say to watch LoGH next. How is that absurd? What I'm reacting to isn't of Shauni's criticism of the show, its his criticism of people who really like and advocate the show. You speak alot about context, but maybe you should actually learn to understand the context a bit yourself? Why don't you look at who was attacking people first? Also, the VAST majority of my posts about LoGH have been spoilered posts discussing the series with people currently watching it. Half of which just offering praise without looking at its flaws? Please, pull your head out of your ass.

Please, pull your head out of your ass. Ok, so I exaggerated :p If you look at the posts that are not in a spoiler tag though, a high number are as I described. Shauni did not criticize people who like the show beyond calling them "fanboys"; he was criticizing the show. If that is "attacking" you, by internet standards it is a pretty mild insult. You sarcastically responded, thus attacking him. So you are the one who escalated from attacking a show to attacking a user. If someone has a massive backlog, why would you recommend a 110 episode show? That will only make the backlog get worse. To me at least, it makes more sense to try to get through a lot of shows, and save LoGH for when one has more time. Hence my comment about "context". I hope that helps explain why I thought your recommendation was so ill-suited to what he was actually looking for. It would be as if someone asked for a goofy slice of life and was you went on about how LoGH was a great show. That ignores the context in which the request is being asked (and yes I'm aware that is not a flawless analogy). And now, to try to make this post at least somewhat constructive... My friend suggested Elfen Lied , is it worth watching? It's trashy and dumb, but good trashy and dumb. I thought it was one of the more gripping shows I've seen, despite the general ridiculousness of the show. If you like Code Geass (which is itself an absurd show) you should like it.
