Finally finished the Irotoridori Series' final game: Akai Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai or "The World Reflected From Your Scarlet Eyes".
It's pretty much just a short afterstory and ichaicha conclusion to the series. It tackles some real world issues like parting from loved ones and facing slumps: essentially the up and down of life. And finally it brings lots and lots of Shinku fanservice <3
Storywise, it does not add much, but it's a good closure to the series. You can tell that a lot of effort went into it even though it's just a short story. It still contains the same issues in writing as the other games, but I think its strengths covers up for most of its flaws. Especially, if you're a Shinku fan. :D
Next game, I'm planning to tackle is a classic: Utawarerumono. From what I've heard it's kind of RPG-like VN so it's going to be fun to see what the gameplay is like. Depends how you define 'active', but I finished Baldr Sky a month or so back. It wasn't quire Muvluv Alternative tier, but it was still really good! Fun gameplay too

It is what it is. Animation-wise it's better than most. I like it when a show puts some actual thought into how they compose a scene, and every so often, they pull it off beautifully.
You also have to remember that Mob is coming off the heels of the OPM craze. You can argue that the show's overhyped (as I do for OPM), but it's pretty clear why it gets rated so highly.

Relying on comedy as filler is fine, but if the jokes don't land... what's the point? Ep 2 also didn't say much of anything about radio business. The scene with the ex is worrying. Considering what they've shown so far, I don't trust these writers to deliver on good drama. Not gonna bother with ep 3.
As for all the other shows:
Yesterday wo Utatte is fine I guess. It's veering into melodrama territory awfully quick though. Honzuki still good. Fruits Basket still good. Kaguya has retained the things that made it good. Fuck the Game of Life chapter though. I think Arte is the first time I've ever seen Italy in anime (Aria doesn't count). It's also a great example of why badly written genki girls suck. Kakushigoto is fun with context. The anime misses out on the best part in that a lot of this shit is based off of actual experiences. + Show Spoiler +Fully nude photos? Yep, Kumeta did that, the absolute madman. ![[image loading]](https://i.imgur.com/jXfbCDx.jpg) But meh, I'd follow this show anyways. It's been ten years since I watched SZS, and I crave more.

Gunslinger Girl also plays in Italy. Not sure if you have seen that. There are probably some other older anime with some episodes in Italy as well.

Fair enough I guess, but modern day Italy wasn't exactly what I had in mind lol. This show is specifically in the Renaissance.

NeoIllusionsToday at 12:59 AM Consequence of isekai. You miss an entire season of animu without knowing. Sasuga Toad.
ToadToday at 12:59 AM did I REALLY miss a season of souma :nani:
ToadToday at 1:00 AM let's see what last episode of S4 was
tbf I haven't watched anything in a while... i'm really confused right now
Edit-update: I... either missed a season or stopped watching halfway through season 4 because I sure as hell don't remember Azami arc being finished in the anime lol. Last thing I remember happening is Isshiki being a boss and his duel as well as Souma's duel vs the Soba girl. Anyone know when that was?

Fun gameplay too Ooh nice, Baldr Sky is definitely a good game. I had a hard time with the last boss though on hard difficulty and had to lower the difficulty to finish it.
It was fun building combos even though I sucked at it. I really like the sword from the ground and shining finger knockoff attacks.
The setting and world building is very good with the virtual world and Simulacra or however it was translated. The antagonist was rather boring, but the entire journey was very fun. I enjoyed Rain and Rain's route the most even though it was the introduction arc.
Still have not had time to try the other Baldr games, but I'll get to it eventually. Or at least some of them, as I heard some of them are not that good.

Or at least some of them, as I heard some of them are not that good. The Steam one had Dive 1 and Dive 2, so those are the ones I've beaten. Those two combined took longer than my combined Muvluv reads... Although I did spend a lot of time grinding weapons in Baldr
The last boss did take me a few tries, but my hardest encounter was this one in late... I think Mikoto Route? One mission where you had to protect a character and there are tons of Viruses that kept spawning.
Chinatsu and Sora were my favorite two girls, but Baldr is kind of weird for a VN in that I was way more drawn to the plot than I was to the characters. Most of the character focused stuff in the routes just wasn't as good. All that said, I felt like each successive route was an improvement over the one that came before it. The last route was just really good...

Haven't played Gahkthun. Did not really get into the Liarsoft games too much, so it is rather low priority for me. I do think they are decent games, but I was not into the author's writing style. Maybe, I should replay them in JP and see if I change my opinion on it as I read Inganock and Sharnoth in English quite a while ago. That is if I can find the time to do so anyways as it's already hard enough finding time to play new games.
Majikoi, I think is decent, but I don't really get why people like it so much. Overall, I think it's just an inferior version of Little Busters, which has similar premise in a group of 10-12 people playing around and eventually finding some romance. Little Busters has a much much better story and I think is better in almost every way except for the actions scenes.
A new Aria is always welcome in my book!

Majikoi is a voice trap and has fun characters. It's not exactly the pinnacle of literature, but it's a good time overall. I'll agree that Little Busters is better, but you can't argue that it's better in every way, considering that atrocities like Kud route exist.
The baseball game also drove me nuts trying to win the damn thing, but that's a different matter.

I'm an idiot. I started watching the new season of railgun and caught up. Now I'm like why do people put themselves through the nightmare of the weekly release.

Claymore was so fucking goooooooooooooood! the end wasnt on the level of the series but still what a ride!
hack.sign... what a sleep fest

Bakarina is living up to expectations. Can she save Keith from Nicole's charms? Have the secret Yuri routes been unlocked? Will the school allow her to plow a field in the garden? Stay tuned for more wholesome funsies in the near future. I love this show and manga so much. :D

hack.sign... what a sleep fest I watched like 2 episodes of hack.sign then dropped. I don't care if its one of the first anime that explored the isekai idea (was told at least). It's a snooze-fest!

I originally went in wondering what I'm getting myself into then was quite impressed by how funny the whole thing turned out. I can't wait to see what happens next as well!

Claymore manga was better but it still went down hill by the end. Aome amazing characters out of that series though.

It really does. I wasn't sure the first three episodes but it really grew on me. I'm not even sure I care about the mysteries of the world so much as I want more of my favourite characters to root for.

Just watched ID: Invaded due to the rec in this thread. Agreed that this was great. Definitely recommend.

While the ultimate reveal in ID was a bit unsatisfying, it was still competent enough to not wreck the show. The journey to get there was really enjoyable though - lots of legitimately well executed twists and a great cast.
The show was crafted with so much care. The entire sequence in the middle episode 12 is amazing. At the very climax of the show, they show a bunch of scenes 10-15 seconds at a time, never lingering long enough that it drags. And yet, it's still enough to convey what the scene is, why it's important, and ultimately builds up for the final conflict. The music is noticeable, but not enough to overwhelm, and it just elevates the entire thing. It's the best example of insert song usage I've seen in a loooong time.
Definitely one of the better anime originals I've watched in the past few years. + Show Spoiler +I honestly doubt a sequel would be able to do it justice. How do you ever replace Fukuda?
