This is just senseless and doesn't make sense. Why did he attack a studio if its a case of plagiarism? Why didn't this guy find a legal way to prove his case? Condolences to the families.

Some people who feel they've been wronged, whether or not it's justified, do unspeakable things to those they felt have wronged them. This isn't anime-related, but in 2004, a man with schizophrenia thought that Dimebag Darrell of Pantera was stealing/plagarizing his music, so he rushed the stage and murdered Darrell and three others

I mean, don't get me wrong, I get how things could've happened. I'm mostly confused as to how the studio is to blame, and not say, the writer who would've been the person directly responsible, but guess that's why he's considered mentally insane.

This is actually unconfirmed right now. Theres lots of conflicting info out right now. Apparently there was a mistranslation where that news came from and as of now hes still just missing

Kyo-Ani's main datacenter may have been located on the 2nd floor of the building. The intellectual damages may be astronomical.
Kyo-Ani had their nursery on the 2nd floor. They were well-known to be a very family friendly company, hiring many mothers.

I'm not sure I fully understand that sentiment. I'm pro death penalty and could even see some sense in enacting pain/torture as a deterrent to other crazies. But in the end I'd rather just swift removal of them. As a society you simply say, "we do not tolerate this level of lunacy" and do some humane form of killing and remove the cancerous element.

As far ad punishment goes, from what I read Japan has capitol punishment, and still hangs murderers, so if thats the case, the culprit for this will probably hang for this.

I was looking forward to more Maid Dragon. But that can wait until we have closure.
Fun fact?: I did a report in primary(elementary) school on Japan and their period of seclusion. I made it a point to visit Japan at that age. I made good on my point and have pictures or the statue of Nobunaga, Osaka-Ji castle, and other places. I also lived in Okinawa for 3 years and recently went back.
Japan has a special place in my heart and this news just....tears me.
