It's really sad that it was discontinued in terms of content. Although it actually received some updates recently from devs working on it in their free time. In a recent AMA they stated that the combined downtime for GW in its life-time was just 32 hours. I agree to what Spazer said: MAL's technical ineptitude is astounding. | ||

I do specifically remember that at some point their naming convention was really fucked up and had 3 (!) different ways to write out names depending on where you looked names up. Like if you looked at the characters the voice of the Seiyuu would be written in one way, then if you click on the seiyuu itself and get to the specific page of them it's written somehow else and somewhere else it was written in yet another way again. iirc it was " [LastName] [FirstName] " " [FirstName] [LastName] " and " [Last Name], [FirstName]" depending on where you looked. that made me facepalm so hard. No idea if that was generally a styling thing/rule or just something that happened to be a fuckup for this one seiyuu I looked up but man, wtf | ||

The two biggest are anilist and kitsu (Both also work with taiga if that is your thing) I'm giving both a trial run and seeing how they fare. I still think MAL looks better than both of them tho... also the advanced scoring on anilist kind of annoys me. But at least you can rate stuff in smileys or on a 10.0 scale | ||

I was thinking of trying AniList. Just exported my MAL list and imported it to AniList  Taiga looks cool tbh. I'll look into it a bit. | ||
