I'm sympathetic to the idea of wanting to talk about stuff, but show quality is way more important to me. There's like almost nobody I can talk to about Ergo Proxy, but I don't mind rewatching it again because it's that much better than whatever anime is out there. I just don't have it in me to watch Re  ero and sit through something I know I'm going to cringe at just so I can feel like I'm part of something. | ||

ero cracks me up every time.MAL sucks in several ways, but only one of them is important. I don't care for their community, but that's easy enough to ignore. I will say though, they've done a pretty good job of cultivating contributors. Their database of works is also reasonably complete. The real problem is that they're technically inept. Over the years, they've had far too many problems. IIRC they've had multiple incidents where accounts were getting compromised. It's why their login period is so stupidly short. The API v1 requires your username and password to function, which is bad practice and insecure. The API v2 didn't need it but was suddenly shut down for reasons unknown. And now there's talk of a vulnerability which is why the site is down. Basically, I've got no reason to stick with their service when I can just export all my data with two clicks. | ||
