For the characters with physical look clearly described in the original novels, we decided to use designs that are not too different from those in Ishiguro’s adaptation. On the other hand, for characters without specific descriptions, the three character designers are free to design with their own personal style, and they went all out designing characters that look different but could match those in Ishiguro’s adaptation. They just copy pasted Kuroko with some slight tweaks because that's how they animate and know what sells to their core demographic. I don't know if it was the studio itself or the production committee but fuck these people. I didn't even particularly like Kuroko's designs, they felt too similar within their own show. Now this. Arg. They better give me the tightest plugsuits ever like Yamato did! They would have to greatest expand on the portrayal of the key female leads in the story for me to really get on board after this travesity. Always felt like there was so much potential in the original to show more of them instead of scaling back so much. I take it more as a product of it's time in this regard. | ||
