Its not actually being made by Shaft, but visually it has that uninteresting flat look to parts of it with all the artsy stuff crammed in between. Would rather have a style like whats in Devilman vs Cyborg 009 instead of.... this.

Best Anime for 2017 Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon. Well that was a given seeing as how big a Kyoani fan I am. Easily for me one of the best this season. The theme of family throughout that show really hit me in all the feels. 3 gatsu and Tsuki ga Kirei were a close second similarly for their story and the feels. Best Thing That Nobody Watched of 2017 Natsume no Yuujinchou Roku. According to MAL, this ranked 2nd last in total number of people who completed it, ~24k. (Out of the list of shows that I watched). Among the others near the bottom of that list, Natsume just seemed like the "better" one out of them. Most Surprising of 2017 Tsuki ga Kirei. Didn't really have any expectations for it, but was easily one of the shows this year I wanted to know what happened every week. And extremely sad during the times the broadcast got delayed. Stockholm Syndrome Award for 2017 Eromanga Sensei. The amount of times I questioned why I was still watching this every week... Best Anime Season of 2017 Winter, since that were the one most of the few shows I watched came from. Completed the same amount for Spring, but Winter had the better titles :D Worst Anime Season of 2017 Summer or Fall being the remainder I guess. Most Disappointing of 2017 Fate/Apocrypha. Forgot I even watched a few ep of this. I didn't know anything about this going in aside from knowing about the Fate series. The show was pretty boring despite having one of my favourite servants, Jeanne, in it. Got bored, fell behind in episodes, and never really wanted to catch up. There were probably a couple more I dropped too, but since I deleted off my MAL, I don't remember them. Guilty Pleasure Tsuki ga Kirei I guess? As a person over twice the age of the characters watching them fall in love felt pretty guilty. Was giggling and d'awwwing like a little school girl through most of the show. Honorable mentions: Gamers! Hated it at first because of how stupid the misunderstandings got, but after taking it for what it was worth, it became a pretty silly enjoyable show. 'Toad Award' for Most Overrated Anime of 2017 + Show Spoiler + idk what Elem did to deserve spazer permanently attaching this to him, but I find Toad is way more guilty of this than Elem. Anything that came out of Toad's mouth :D. lol jk. Attack on Titans S2 is probably the easy go to answer for this one. Nothing else really compares when even my non-weeb friends were hyping it up every week only for me to finally catch up to it and be like "meh", or "that's retarded"... Best Scene of 2017 Ep 13 of Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon. + Show Spoiler + Whole montage of Kobayashi trying to take care of Kanna when Tohru's gone, and showing just how dependent she had become on Tohru to help take care of her and the house. Really gut wrenching. Best OP of 2017 Maid Dragon. Took awhile to grow on me at first, but afterwards became pretty catchy to listen to. Animation of it was top quality which was standard Kyoani. Honorable mentions: Gamers! dat PUBG reference ![]() Best ED of 2017 Tsuki ga Kirei. Every week the ED had a different heart warming LINE chat log between two mysterious lovers that told a touching/cute story on their own. + Show Spoiler + And you find out at the end it was the 2 main characters in their later stages of their relationship was really the cherry on top of this really sweet love story. Best Female Characters of 2017 Tohru from Maid Dragon. Best dragon waifu~. Best Male Characters of 2017 Kotarou from Tsuki ga Kirei easy. + Show Spoiler + Confession by ep3, dating by ep4, SHUTS DOWN NTR ATTEMPT by ep7, kisses her by ep8, gets her to kiss HIM by ep10, SHUTS DOWN MORE NTR, and is married with kid by ep12. MANtarou IS A FUCKING GOD. Honorable mentions, Zouroku from Alice and Zouroku and Kobayashi from Maid Dragon + Show Spoiler + lol. Worst Male and Female Characters of 2017 Izumi siblings from Eromanga Sensei. Like, not even a contest...

Made in Abyss - It's not often that a work tries to hit those emotional notes and actually succeeds. Rakugo s2 - A direct sequel to s1, and a damn good one. I prefer the coming of age story in s1 a little more, but this was still a solid package. Yakumo still steals the show, but Yotaro and Konatsu are worthy successors. Houseki no Kuni - Along with Made in Abyss, this show had some of the best worldbuilding this year. Best Thing That Nobody Watched of 2017 The Dragon Dentist - It was pretty decent, and I'm almost certain nobody but me watched it. It manages to tell a complete, coherent story in 2 episodes, which is more than I can say for most shows. Lupin III: Chikemuri no Ishikawa Goemon - Because nobody watches Lupin. This movie is ridiculous, but it also has some of the best fight scenes this year. It is both horrifically and comically graphic. It also feels like nobody watches Hoozuki, but it's hard to tell because there's not really much to discuss there. Most Surprising of 2017 Houseki no Kuni - I literally expected nothing from this show, and it ended up being one of the best shows this year. Centaur no Nayami - I thought it was going to be a cute sol. I guess it kind of was? Shoukoku no Altair - The first arc was shit. The rest of the show thoroughly redeemed it. Actual epics are kinda rare these days. Stockholm Syndrome Award for 2017 Shingeki no Bahamut s2 - Just fuck this show. A promising start followed up by a focus on bad drama over adventuring. Plot-wise, I think it might've had the most copouts this year. What's really funny is that s1 had the exact same problems. Blame! - I thought it was going to be an affront to the manga. It was. But it's Blame, so I must watch. Gamers! - Net-juu had the decency to actually be about gamers, and to deliver. Best Anime Season of 2017 Fall 2017 Worst Anime Season of 2017 All of them. Spring 2017 had Re:Creators though, so it wins. Most Disappointing of 2017 Gundam Thunderbolt s2 - Seriously, what the fuck happened? s1 was one of the best recent Gundam series with great music and great scenes. s2 was just a clusterfuck, and everyone got character assassinated. I can't even remember a single sequence from this show. Guilty Pleasure Nana Maru San Batsu - Overall it's just a bad sports show, but the trivia was fun at least. Ballroom e Youkosou - An objectively poor adaption of a great manga. What's really depressing is that it has passed the manga. Presumably the arc was supposed to finish at the same time as the manga, but author health issues keep cropping up... 'Elem Award' for Most Overrated Anime of 2017 Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou - I get what they're going for, but I don't care for it at all. Yuuri is also a total dick. Little Witch Academia - I don't think I've ever liked it when Trigger tries to do drama. The Croix and human subplots in particular were dumb. I liked the OVAs a lot more. Best Scene of 2017 Made in Abyss - + Show Spoiler + The circumstances of Riko's birth. Ozen says that her birth is basically a perversion of nature. Makes sense. Five minutes later, Lyza frames it as a mircale in a way that is both earnest and genuinely touching. It's really nice perspective shift. I also really liked the final sequence with the balloon and notebook in the last episode. That episode in general was excellent. Houseki no Kuni - Shhh. Frankly, this show was swimming in beautiful scenes. Rakugo s2 - + Show Spoiler + Yakumo's journey in the afterlife. It was basically a way for Yakumo (and by extension, the audience) to find closure. The way it was done made it feel oddly nostalgic, like it was a celebration of the series as a whole. Overall, it was a nice feedgood episode, and a great way to send off Yakumo and the series. Having Matsuda as the boatman was just the cherry on top. Best OP of 2017 As always, I value visuals above pretty much everything else for this stuff. Usually I give it to some Shaft show, but they didn't really do anything I particularly liked this year. 3-gatsu in particular has some of Shaft's most pedestrian OP/EDs. Rakugo s2 - It's just really good. Haunting vocals and visuals with allusions to the story. + Show Spoiler [vid] + Onihei - No vocals, but stylistically interesting. It fits the show. Hoozuki no Reitetsu - Perfect OP for what this show is. Shoutout to Mahoutsukai no Yome for having one of the worst OPs in recent memory. Interpretive dance on a black background with castanets. Wat. The ED is far more fitting. Best ED of 2017 I never really know for this one. Rakugo s2 also had a nice ED, but s1's was superior. I guess Uchouten showed some neat details even if the song was nothing special. Little Witch Academia ED1 was also nice. Best Female Characters of 2017 Phos from Houseki - I was skeptical at the start, but as it turns out, her character arc is legitimately good. Benten from Uchouten - She's supposed to be the all powerful not-Tengu, but her weakness was on full display in s2 because of Niidaime. Their interactions were great to watch. Nanachi - She basically sells the final episode. Best Male Characters of 2017 Look at this guy: ![]() He has the coolest name (Kurt Kurt Pasha). He has the best getup with that wolf. He has the best moustache. None can match him. Yakumo from Rakugo. Despite the story shifting to Yotaro and the next generation, the show as a whole is still about Yakumo, and for good reason. He's still fascinating. Worst Male Characters of 2017 The MC from Re:Creators, whatever his name is - The show had many problems. He was one of the biggest. Sieg from Fate/Apoc - in a series full of Gary Stus, this is the most Gary Stu of them all. Souun from Uchouten - Seriously, just die already. The most unnecessary villain. Worst Female Characters of 2017 Meteora from Re:Creators - Infodumps: the character. Croix from Little Witch Academia - Muh edge. That one girl from Knight's & Magic - I'm pretty sure she only exists so the MC can have a love interest later. Edit: On December 28 2017 13:35 felisconcolori wrote: Wait... Ancient Magus' Bride is getting another cour? Wow. Awesome. And a good thing too, because everyone's favorite side story would be pointless if they waited another year. It looks like they're teasing stuff past the manga, which is also good, because that's when Chise becomes an actual character.

afaik nanachi's gender was never revealed, and everwhere online it says that the gender is N/A. If anything, nanachi feels more male to me.

In every situation, he looks and feels more male than female to me. Would you, being a boy, be ok with another boy groping you? Nanachi's reaction seems fine to me. If anything, Reg doing that to Nanachi and not doing anything of the sort to Riko says more than anything, considering the bonerfeels he has for her.

There is nothing about nanachi, not mannerisms or way of talking that in my mind indicates that she is a boy. Especially not when they choose a female voice actress and have her keep the voice completely feminine. YMMV

Best Anime for 2017 Natsume Yuujinchou Roku. It has been six fucking seasons of this show and I still love 90% of all episodes. One tragic day I might end up not doing so, but for now it's still a guaranteed 10 from me every time. I really, really, realllllllllly wanna give the #1 to 3-gatsu no Lion s2. It's been so absurdly good, picking up amazingly where the first season ended. Shaft has handled it super well, and not just to the point of "not fucking up source". But it's only halfway, and who the fuck knows how much it could kill my sky high expectations. A third one would be Houseki no Kuni. I kept hearing that it was great, but I suffer too hard from getting hyped from recommendations and recently got sorta burned by Made in Abyss in that regard. But this one really delivered, so I am glad I picked it up even if I was late on the train. Best Thing That Nobody Watched of 2017 How do you judge this? Idk. No one on IRC ever talked about The Idolm@ster - Side-M and it was really nice IMO, arguably the best of the IM@S anime stuff that's out. I also never saw anyone mention Onihei, not even if I go outside of this community and onto the great twitterverse. It was really solid, and jidaigeki is always extra fun when they pull it off without feeling the need to force in some unnecessary romance drama into it. Most Surprising of 2017 I'm gonna count PINGU IN THE CITY as anime(since it's on MAL!) and say it was suprisingly fun, really. If I'm not allowed to do that, I pick Just Because!. I picked it up really because I had too few shows to watch and it looked mildly intriguing. Aside from my guaranteed favourites, it was one of the best shows of the year imo. It was way more interesting than your average high school final year drama. Houseki no Kuni also falls into this category. Stockholm Syndrome Award for 2017 Why the fuck did i watch all of URAHARA? Like, really? Anyone? Most Disappointing of 2017 Hard to categorise, but I would say either Yowamushi Pedal s3 or Saekano s2. I think I had too high expectations going into them, but even excluding that they just felt a lot weaker than previous seasons. Guilty Pleasure Pingu in the City. Don't even @ me. ' Like, half of the universe is gonna kill me and Nagi is gonna be whiny for at least a couple of weeks but Kobayashi-san Chi no Maidragon was hella overrated tbh. It was pretty decent, but since it's KyoAni it gets more than it deserves. I also do not approve of having a dragon waifu. Best Scene of 2017 Arrived quite late, but is a surefire winner for me. Chapter 64 - Silver Wings in the 10th episode of 3-gatsu no Lion s2 is one of the most touching scenes I've watched in a long time, and it embodies best why the anime is an excellent combination of amazing source material and masterfully done adaptation. Best OP of 2017 Flag wo Tatero by YUKI (3-gatsu no Lion s2 op1) Easy choice for me. I love YUKI's music, and it has this extra special chemistry with Umino Chika's works. It sold me extra though to read her own comments on the song on the anime site(in japanese): http://3lion-anime.com/music/2nd-01.html Shoutout to Peace Sign by Yonezu Kenshi (Boku no Hero Academia s2 op1) because I like the music. Best ED of 2017 Honestly I do not remember many EDs from this year. I guess I pick orion by Yonezu Kenshi (3-gatsu no Lion s1 op2) if only because it is the only one I actively listened to.

Not just the music but the visuals for that ED were really great as well. Nothing amazingly outstanding in "omg how did they even do that" or anything like that but it fit so perfectly. Funnily enough I really can't stand the OP1 from s2 that you picked for best OP. The OP (from a visuals pov) is decent but nothing great imo and the song itself I really can't deal with...

Kyoani gets 10x the attention on all of their shows, even if they're awful like Kyoukai no Kanata. Best Scene of 2017 Arrived quite late, but is a surefire winner for me. It was a solid half-episode. The funny part is, this episode made me think about how little I care about Rei's romance in comparison to the random side stories. I just don't give a shit. I think the relationship development stuff was handled a lot better in Honey and Clover. Oh well. In general, I kinda hate all the Kawamoto family drama. What an absolute piece of shit, it's some of the absolutely worst storytelling i have ever seen in any medium and i would almost suggest that people watch it just to see how bad it actually is, and that's just almost, i can't actually in good faith tell anyone to watch this abomination. It's probably straight up the worst thing i have ever watched from a storytelling POV.

I would answer the questions above but I've seen enough anime that I honestly can't remember which anime was in what season and my anime list has really grown recently. Only thing I can say is that LoGH is one of those animes I saw and it was pretty kickass: + Show Spoiler + I dislike how Reinhard kept getting repeatedly thwarted by Yang lol and disliked the weak way the author killed Yang. For a guy who's forte is planning, it was one of the worst ways to go but the scale of the war is pretty the biggest I've seen in the medium. Honestly, 20M+ going into a war from just one side etc... Tactics were also pretty fun to watch even if at times, they felt kinda simplistic and it feels like the enemy gifted the win XD Best ED or at least one of the best was this:
