Yuasa is directing and Science SARU is his studio. All the main staff in tatami is also doing this.

This and tatami galaxy aren't really related. They just have similar art and have the same guy doing the character designs who also did the cover art for the book apparently. Though I think the tatami galaxy anime did have some yoru characters in it. Forgot what they did though.
Also mfw Hoshino gen is voicing the main character. I only know him as a breakout artist of 2015 and 2016. Didn't know he voice acted.

Oh I didn't know that. They haven't produced anything yet though, have they?
The trailer has characters looking like Akashi but especially Ozu and god-guy. Would be weird to use the same character designs without relation because those are very unique designs.

Don't know but probably not.
The girl is most definitely not akashi. It's the same design because the artist likes to repeat designs/motifs intentionally. It's a different cast in the same setting
Also apparently the tatami galaxy anime has a very different script compared to the novel. Rip. Hopefully they decide to stick to the novel for Yoru.

So, basically, heresy. If I learned anything from all the 80s Saturday morning cartoons, it was that you can't trust the kid that doesn't agree with the group. They're probably evil and going to do terrible things until the good guys show them the truth that you agree with the group.

fmp was one of the first anime that I came across that I didn't end up liking. It got its fair chance, much more so than I gave other anime due to its popularity but it wasn't for me. Not much more needs to be said.
