Season 3 (The Second Raid) goes up to book 5. @ Igakusei - Got a link to the ad?
Unfortunately no. It was playing on a TV when I was in a Japanese book store the other day, but I couldn't hear it well enough to make out any words.
I use the nuns description very loosely. The dress and style just had a somewhat religious overtone, in a similar way to how this one does (although they were navy blue/black, not white).

Edit: That's not the anime I saw, just to be clear. That picture was just the closest thing I've found to the style I remember.

I checked out all the ones you mentioned and they seem pretty interesting, so I added them to my list and I'll definitely get to them after Geass. Thanks for the insight on the Gundam series btw, I wasn't sure if there were certain ones that had to be watched in sequence. Show nested quote +haha, I dunno, after watching Gundam's last attempt to make a very dark and kill-em-all show, the main character was a 13 year old kid, and the director when out of his way to kill as many characters as possible in order to permanently traumatize the poor kid Hahah the first thing that came to mind was NGE I guess Gundam's attempt wasn't very successful >.> Just to clarify, there ARE some that should be watched a sequence. I just mentioned those that don't need to be.
The Original Gundam->Zeta Gundam->Double Zeta Gundam->Char's Counterattack is one sequence where they are all pretty much direct sequels to each other.
These shows are all in the "Universal Century" timeline (UC), which is the "main timeline" of Gundam, and everything else is considered Alternative Universes (AU). Gundam 08th MS is UC as well, but it takes place at the same time as the original, so you don't need to watch the original before it. Same thing with Gundam 0080.
Gundam 0083 should technically be watched after the original, but if you have already seen 08th MS Team, you should be fine. Gundam Unicorn takes place years after Char's Counterattack, so it isn't really necessary to watch that first. Gundam F91 takes place even after that, and is pretty much self-contained. Victory Gundam (the most kill-em-all of all Gundams) takes place long after them all, and is pretty much its own AU. This is it for all the UC shows.
Gundam Wing->Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz..
Gundam SEED->Gundam SEED Destiny is another sequel, although IMO SEED Destiny was terrible and should be avoided.
Gundam 00->Gundam 00 s2->Awakening of the Trail Blazer movie.
Turn A Gundam is a special case. You can watch it whenever you want, but you would appreciate it more after watching the original sequence, X, Wing, and G.

Code Gease :D one of my favourite great story and characters

Code Geass would be alot better if Kallen's real father was in it.
...Now time to see if anyone gets the joke lol

It almost makes me not take it seriously at all. I guess I won't judge it on one episode, though. You must not take the series seriously in order to enjoy it. In fact one of the hallmark of the source material is it took itself too seriously whilst having dialogue straight out of a korean soap. I'm amazed that it got animated, just about the only memorable thing from the manga before I dropped it was..the tight boobies and every woman wears heels in every form, sometimes very awkwardly.

+ Show Spoiler [LoGH 31+32] +The inquiry is the stupidest thing I have ever seen. The outcome is obvious once you realize that the war is lost without Yang. I mean, yeah, they were basically forced to do it because of Phezzan, but what the heck was the purpose of extending the inquiry so many times? -_- lol @ Yang wanting to retire in the flashiest manner possible. The parallels between this series and Star Wars are hilarious. Let's see: - The Imperial Empire vs the Rebel Alliance
- Empire = Germany
- Alliance pilots wear orange flightsuits
- Imperial pilots wear facemasks
- Geiersberg is essentially the Death Star (Moon sized space station with a superweapon
)
Star Wars' story has nothing on LoGH though.

I'm sorry I feel I should get it but I watched the show like 2 years ago and have forgotten most of the finer plot details :'(

But on the bright side, Yang being away gives all the other people in Yang's group a chance to do their thing. When Yang is around, he just eclipses everyone else.
@DarthXX: A hint would be that Kallen's father involves another anime, so you may or may not get it...

It's just one of those things, like I read the summary and thought holy crap this might be awesome! zombies and anime? then I saw it was ecchi my heart sank. So I went to watch this with no expectations but it still managed to disappoint me somehow, just like that Avatar movie (but that's another story.) or stargate universe you know? You know its gonna suck but somewhere in the back of your mind there is still this ill-founded hope, albeit it tiny, that it will be good. But at the end of it, it still sucks and that tiny bit of hope blossoms into flowers of bitterness which will bloom for eternity.

When Yang is around, he just eclipses everyone else. @DarthXX: A hint would be that Kallen's father involves another anime, so you may or may not get it... + Show Spoiler [LoGH stuff] +Yeah, except that you'd never have that in a democracy :p How many times in history do you remember politicians reining in a popular military leader because they were afraid of a coup? Ever? I can't think of a single one in any governmental system, let alone in a democracy. The closest thing I can think of was Truman firing MacArthur, and that wasn't politically motivated, it was political suicide. The only reason he did it was he was afraid MacArthur would start a nuclear war.
I wonder if LoGH is so down on democracy because the Japanese government is freaking awful. But the flaws in the alliance gov. are pretty different from those in the Japanese one. It's like the author thought democracy wasn't that great because of his own experience, but the flaws he saw didn't fit in with the plot so he made up a bunch of flaws that don't really make sense.
Another annoying thing is the constant talk about Yang becoming a dictator. How the fuck is he supposed to do that? Invade, topple the government, and declare himself king? The people would react horribly, regardless of how popular Yang was. And he isn't a charismatic leader either, so he probably wouldn't make that that politically effective of a leader either. Coups like this tend to fail hard, like the one in earlier LoGH, or the one in Thailand several years ago where the military got rid of a horribly unpopular ruler (the alliance gov is bad, but doesn't seem that unpopular) and installed a military government for all of two years before the country returned to democracy. A coup was both doomed to fail and probably damaging to the country. So why on earth does every keep talking about and debating such a thing?
If later on in the series Yang leads a coup, (unless it is against some empire interim gov which is viewed by the people as totally illegitimate) I'm going to be extremely annoyed at this show.

The Arbalest's cannons just destroy everything.
It seems like helicopters are pretty frail though. I mean, the helis can wreck the Arm Slaves, but the Mythril people were easily taking the helis out with M9s.

Wasn't there a thing in one of the earlier episodes (mightve even been the first one) where Souske manages to take down a Hind in an AS and everybody is super impressed as Hind > AS?. Although iirc he was in an M6.
