It seems like helicopters are pretty frail though. I mean, the helis can wreck the Arm Slaves, but the Mythril people were easily taking the helis out with M9s. Wasn't there a thing in one of the earlier episodes (mightve even been the first one) where Souske manages to take down a Hind in an AS and everybody is super impressed as Hind > AS?. Although iirc he was in an M6. It is more the lambda driver than the Boxer shotgun, well, there is also the fact that his shotgun is fired at pretty damn close range.
Helicopters are frail, but usually they outrange AS and have anti-tank rockets, if the latter hits they just wreck an AS. That the folks at Mythril was wrecking helis so easily was more due to ECS and ECCS.
And I think Sousuke was in a M9 by then, can't recall clearly. The M9 was getting adopted into service around the time when Sousuke and Kurtz got scouted and I recall the opening scene from FMP involved ECS usage.

...Now time to see if anyone gets the joke lol You know what I hate? R2's later time slot. "We must redo everything and give all the characters breast implants!" At least its better than highschool of the dead where all the high school girls already HAVE breast implants. But that's an ecchi. It's to be expected. I know it was just so laughably terrible that I like to take pot shots at it whenever I can You're bashing an ecchi for having lots of fanservice?! It's just one of those things, like I read the summary and thought holy crap this might be awesome! zombies and anime? then I saw it was ecchi my heart sank. So I went to watch this with no expectations but it still managed to disappoint me somehow, just like that Avatar movie (but that's another story.) or stargate universe you know? You know its gonna suck but somewhere in the back of your mind there is still this ill-founded hope, albeit it tiny, that it will be good. But at the end of it, it still sucks and that tiny bit of hope blossoms into flowers of bitterness which will bloom for eternity.
It's ok bro, some people are just born gay. No one blames you or judges you. It's a personal lifestyle choice you've made and we stand by you. But here's a hint, for us "males", only one thing makes a zombie+anime coop better, and that's boobs.

I think Sousuke might be better at using a Savage than he does a M9
|
Tessa's M9 wins, hands down :d

Ah ok, ty for the clarification Sent. Props that you've watched all of those
I love this thread since I'm just a casual anime watcher (even though I've watched an ass load) and there are a ton of extremely knowledgeable people on the subject ^____^
btw kakera I don't think that was necessary lol.. I hear where he's coming from. It's the "I like anime and zombies so I'll give this a shot even though I'm not a fan of ecchi" mentality. Although in my case I still liked it a lot
|
Yeah I really don't know why people bash ecchi so much, but I kinda understand the "there a time and place for everything" mentality. Guess DarthXX just wanted a horror/suspense anime with a serious plot and zombies. I absolutely loved Hots the way it was. The wet boobs the panty shots, the bathroom scenes, the apron-on-bare-skin moments etc. It was all good.
I understand people not being fans of this genre but bashing it everytime and everywhere it is brought up is getting tiresome.

Episode 1 of Kimi Ni Todoke picks up right where it left off, but Sawako still drives me bat shit crazy. I still think it's a cute show, though. At the same time when I watch it and whine about certain situations I also think about when I was in Highschool and then I can't blame the writers/her character. Still, man up.

Ever? I can't think of a single one in any governmental system, let alone in a democracy. The closest thing I can think of was Truman firing MacArthur, and that wasn't politically motivated, it was political suicide. The only reason he did it was he was afraid MacArthur would start a nuclear war.
I wonder if LoGH is so down on democracy because the Japanese government is freaking awful. But the flaws in the alliance gov. are pretty different from those in the Japanese one. It's like the author thought democracy wasn't that great because of his own experience, but the flaws he saw didn't fit in with the plot so he made up a bunch of flaws that don't really make sense.
Another annoying thing is the constant talk about Yang becoming a dictator. How the fuck is he supposed to do that? Invade, topple the government, and declare himself king? The people would react horribly, regardless of how popular Yang was. And he isn't a charismatic leader either, so he probably wouldn't make that that politically effective of a leader either. Coups like this tend to fail hard, like the one in earlier LoGH, or the one in Thailand several years ago where the military got rid of a horribly unpopular ruler (the alliance gov is bad, but doesn't seem that unpopular) and installed a military government for all of two years before the country returned to democracy. A coup was both doomed to fail and probably damaging to the country. So why on earth does every keep talking about and debating such a thing?
If later on in the series Yang leads a coup, (unless it is against some empire interim gov which is viewed by the people as totally illegitimate) I'm going to be extremely annoyed at this show. + Show Spoiler +About the fear of Yang leading a coup, people are afraid he will see the current Alliance Government as completely corrupt (which is pretty much is), and overthrown it in an effort to restore democracy. And Yang is a popular figure, much more than the current government, so he would have popular support. But then there is the fear that all the power going to his head would corrupt him. And with how the Alliance Government treats Yang, its like its completely unlikely that he would have a coup. But I guess you will just have to watch and see

Since M9 is technically an American-British model, and the fact that the Soviet Union has the Shadow, I'd say that all the major powers have ECS. The more advanced models of M6 had ECS too iirc.
Oh in terms of the smelling the ionized air part, remember how Kurtz parked an M9 at Tokyo and no one even noticed? lol. But yeah that fight was so badass.
And Amalgam was definitely talked about by season 2. Fumoffu is more like a season 1.5 lol

When Yang is around, he just eclipses everyone else. @DarthXX: A hint would be that Kallen's father involves another anime, so you may or may not get it... + Show Spoiler [LoGH stuff] +Yeah, except that you'd never have that in a democracy :p How many times in history do you remember politicians reining in a popular military leader because they were afraid of a coup?
But I guess you will just have to watch and see I understand all of that. I'm just saying that Yang leading a coup would be disastrous for both Yang and the alliance. The fact that people are endorsing such a policy and others are afraid Yang will lead a coup makes no sense whatsoever.
I agree, Yang leading a coup does not make any sense for now. He would probably have the power to do it, but he would have a lot of trouble to maintain it, especially if he tries to restore democracy. He still has a long way to go first. But then Reinhard managed to become this powerful while being this young! It's amazing.
+ Show Spoiler [29-32] +I'm sorry for being late on 29-30 but I couldn't watch it yesterday It looks like Reinhard is really psychologically destroyed. I hope he finds some happiness somewhere. I also hope he won't break his promise to Kircheis. I really want him to take over the universe! Julian has now been promoted. I wonder if he'll work his way up to admiral? I don't really like Julian, he's a less cool Kircheis for me... I guess we won't know until he actually acquires some power. Anyway, his death for now would mean less than Kempf or Mecklinger or Hilda to me. It's annoying since he's the revolving character of the ED once again. I hope Phezzan gets obliterated in a gigantic explosion. Nothing to add there. Probably will happen though. The fortress fight is gonna be amazing. I hope both get destroyed in the end!

Do you guys have any recommendations for visual novels? I want to start playing them, but I don't know where to start.
Also, good sites to torrent them from? I'm scared that I'm gonna get a virus.
