I wasn't too fond of the show but it has a lot more going for it than the fanservice which isn't as bad as in a lot of other series. | ||

Death Parade ended up being an 8 for me, if this goes on like this I'm probably going to give it a 7 and I don't really see that changing. If only they'd give more screentime to the ogre girl. Clearly best girl. Yes, she's better than catgirl and sawashiro. It's entirely possible that my judgement is clouded because of her clothes but too bad she's just a minor character  | ||

I liked it at the beginning but I'm kind of meh on it now that it ended. Orange Woah, naho finally did something after a bunch of episodes just existing in the background I always hear that kakeru's depression is realistic but I wonder if his friends did anything wrong. Could there have been a better way to help kakeru than the way they did? | ||

It's also a question of how long it is going, how much and what kind of help he got etc. I think they did the right thing. It's a question of getting to the person's core, try to open their heart, make them realise you care for them and cheer them up in the right situation. With right situation I mean, if he is really down, it doesn't (always) make sense to drag him to a festival for example. Suwa did a really good job imho. He was cheery or sensitive and empathic at the right times. Now, they can do everything right but it still could not be enough. In the end, depressive emotions, like everything else, are regulated by chemical stimulators and second messengers. There might be a receptor that is over-sensitive or a dysfunction that over-regulates the discharge of certain messenger etc. which in turn can have different causes. If someone is really depressive, it's almost, if not completely, impossible for friends, let alone new ones, to bring him to a normal life. There is a reason anti-depressants exist. They help to reduce the amount of "negative" chemicals being discharged so the patient can focus working on the core of the problem, with help of course. //oh and it is also really hard to "force" someone to go for professional psychlogical help. Seeing a doctor and taking drugs takes a huge dump on the ego, mental condition and body. | ||

Like I said, I ended up giving it a 7. Nothing that will go down as a great anime that I'll remember fondly but certainly enjoyable to watch. RIP Emnjay, I mention Kayanon voicing the loli in ep1 and she doesn't voice anything until like ep11... or whatever it was RIP me, Touka wasn't even a character...Hime probably has to be the best char looking at it objectively but hoodie-girls are just too good so still Touka for me. + Show Spoiler + even the nurse was more of a character than Touka... not that I'm mad about getting more nurse either but man I wanted Touka Not a fan of the male MC's voice actor so that was a bit annoying but I was able to endure it. It was a good idea to watch it this right after Death Parade, which was a bit more on the grim side. | ||
